Well for me..... its gonna cost 30$ each more for genuine bosch that have a complete new body..... and internals. sounds more new than reman. The Bosch dealer felt sorry for me Im assuming because they are less than he quoted me originally....so Im happy and get a set in the morning. Thanks for all the input guys. Appreciate it. Just wanted people to know....so they can make a clear descision one way or the other.

Again Thank You

You were also paying $150 ($350) more for your GM injectors than most of us do iirc . I've never gotten a Bosch dealer locally to price me LB7s under $400.

Thanks...it was the fact they lied. Honesty isn't as common as it used to be. Ive made it a point to severe all ties with business' that lie, or cheat me. Problem is.... Im running outta places to shop.

I'd be willing to bet a 30 pack they didn't lie, they just didn't know. If nobody in an enthusiasts board knows why would you expect the parts guys to know? They just sell the parts, they don't keep track of who makes all of them. Just be happy you found one competent enough to order duramax parts.

Maybe in your area rust isn't an issue but they literally pour liquid calcium on our TransCanada Highway in Northern Ontario. Everything rusts.....and fast. Last generation of GM's... maybe 07 or 08's with holes in the boxsides....rotton plumbing...seized calipers aluminum rims that are so corroded they wont hold air.. etc etc etc. When I removed my hard lines every injector got filled to the top ot the fitting with rust. I assure you its in issue here

That's from removing the lines. It falls down into them. Unless the actual seats were corroded you don't have an issue.

I seen those but after speaking with bosch yesyerday I was told they haven't sold new units for yrs. GM forced them to stop. So now their remans have new bodies and internals. Not sure how that makes them remans but he also said that anyone claiming to have BN OEM's may have had them for some time....and they wont be as "updated". Who knows. Im starting to question everything. For now Im going with the Bosch. My truck has 230,000 kms on the originals .Id be happy if the next set made it half that without issues.Fingers crossed

This is confusing to me as they also sell Bosch remans. The Bosch remans have an "R" stamped on the bodies if I recall, but these "new" injectors do not.

I purchased the "new" injectors and I'm wondering what the hell it is that I got, if they're not new or remans.

Do you guys really think GM would jump ship from Bosch if they didn't have good reason? Do you really think they would pick up a different manufacturer without standards & testing first?

Yes. GM is NOTORIOUS for going with who ever to make a buck. Look back at the history of the DURAMAX. The fuel filter recall is a good example. They went with a filter that didn't meet the BOSCH minumum specs so they could save a few cents per unit. It wasn't until problems arose that they had the recall to a filter that met BOSCH specs. By now there isn't an LB7 left under warranty, so if they can get an injector to make it 12 months or 12,000 miles, what do they care. Once it's out of warranty it's back to CP and not there dime anymore. GM ONLY cares about making money, quality is a distant second with there bean counters. Look at all the recalls as of late, and tell me the new management of GM cares about quality or spending an extrta dollar to make it good.

This is true, and this is EVERY corporation. I know a tech at the Cummins test facility and they are the same way. I work at John Deere, and sadly, they are the same way... It doesn't matter who it is, every company wants a lower cost to open up profits and 99% of the time quality suffers.

JD has gotten pretty greedy lately. And turned enough people off.

I will say they did step up and cover a large part of the bill when our cutterhead split on the SPFH we had awhile back before going to claas. I drove to quad cities to get it though which was fine but then had to wait for the order to be filled for a couple hours. Turns out our stuff had been ready but dealer wanted me to pick up parts they needed for a combine or something. Words were exchanged heavily. We were already a couple days behind due to this problem.

Agco is having tons of issues with their newer Massey stuff because of poor outsourcing. We switched to Fendt and I don't want to junk it but it's been literally trouble free for nearly 850hrs now. Quality is there, but they do a lot in house or with close trusted sources, not the lowest bidder. Germans are known for being arrogant and only liking themselves, in this case it pays off I guess.

I like the duramax but won't buy GM otherwise. What I don't get is that if they are trying to make bigger profits by cutting quality, why are the profits not showing? I love our TDIs, they have their issues as well but it's not hard to hit 200k with one and not have it falling to pieces. Now a duramax will live that long but the rest of the truck shows its age by then. Look at resale of domestic car at 200k versus import? Especially look at TDI value. You can't buy one for under 6 grand here if it's 2000 or newer with a manual but I can buy a duramax for a couple grand more?

My question though is why do GMs profits still seem to be so low with all of this cost cutting. I haven't seen recent numbers but a couple years ago GMs profits were 7 billion while VWs were 26 billion. I feel I get my moneys worth out of VW products but GM leaves a lot to be desired. 50k for a pickup truck and you still don't get express up windows, hell all you get is express down on drivers window unless you get LTZ. My TDI is 15 years older and has express up/down without a luxury package.

Heated cloth seats apparently are not on domestic radar either.

I could go on but I'll stop.

Funny thing like I said....they conveniently happen to find a TSB or notice whatever from head office under the counter as I was complaining stating that "Bosch is no longer the rebuilder".... but Im a sleuth and from 5 ft away seen a 2012 in the date. Find it hard to believe it was under the counter for two yrs only to be discovered as I complained.

Eveything on the inside is clean.....but just the moisture filled air (salt moisture) from the hwys ate everything on the outside. Looks like a cauliflower garden under the hood. Pffff we pay INCREDIBLE taxes...insurance....gas prices and the highest sales tax......13% here in Ontario. ... and that's on top of everything including services....but somehow our provincial government got rid of all the road maintenance equipment ( and crews I may add) to outsource to "private" company that does it the easiest way. They Pre spray the Hwys the day before a projected storm with liquid rust (calcium haha) and half the time the system blows north or south around the Great Lakes and we don't see a flake. What a joke. Leave me to pay thousands in maintenance.....due to rot.......

Changing one or two injectors around here isn't possible. You contaminate the good ones taking the rotton lines off

They wer around 300 Canadian which at present isn't much more than in the US...... but tax on them is $40 lol so that's haow u achieve the high cost. Evan get charged the 13% sales tax on the cores initially. Oh Canada alright

This is what a box containing a "GM" reman LB7 injector looks like. This is an injector from a GM dealer. They don't advertise Bosch anywhere. The reman "Bosch" I believe have a Bosch logo and say made in Germany with a Bosch part Number 0986435502.

attachment.php

FWIW: We've done hundreds of LB7 injectors and have seen very few (talking like a handful here), of non-normal or early failures with the "GM" injectors.

Here's a Bosch LB7 pic I found.

I don't find it hard to believe at all, you're assuming the parts guys were working there when that came out. If its a dealer you use often then sure you would know. Not that many people go to them for these anyways because unless you get wholesale pricing, its much cheaper online.
