Taking this from the Mileage tune Thread but I have always wondered what the best all around single turbo would have the best mileage so I am starting this thread and would appreciate any real world experience.
I am guessing maybe a billet wheeled gt4094r or gtx4294 because of them being ball bearing.
I am just trying to get a consensus because I have not seen this topic and I am interested in getting that turbo.
Thanks all!

Even of a ball bearing fixed vane gave you better mileage it would take 5 years to make up the purchase price in fuel savings.

I'm asking in terms of upgrading for bigger power but still ability for the "best mileage"
I'm not initially concerned about price as much as I am information but thanks anyways

It would be twins, don't need the fueling (smoke is wasted fuel) to get on top of the charger and at low power levels. Doesn't add that much back pressure. Really if you want to change something I would say put a bypass on the IC so it goes straight to your engine, but then you will have EGT issues at higher powers

An S475 over a stock charger would definitely spool lightening fast and still be good for mid 600'hp

I consistently got 18 mpg out of my 4094vvt billet turbo, but like Trojan366 said the best mileage turbo is the stocker. Sometimes adding power can have a negative effect on mileage. Its a give or take type deal.

x2 on an S366. But how are you going to keep your foot out of it? THAT is the question.

I thought you were trying for 1000hp daily driver a month ago?

My theory is to build a compound turbo, but with the best all around response and Efficiency. I like the ideal of running a gt4094r with a billet wheel and then figuring out which ball bearing turbo to compound it with to achieve 1000hp.

Anybody heard of or used a Comp turbo?
They are all over eBay and are local here in So Cal. They claim to have superior turbochargers.

It's good for more than that ;)

I wouldn't worry about fuel mileage at 1000hp lol

Why? You don't use 1000hp when you cruise nor do I use 600hp when I cruise but I'm doing all I can to net the best mpg out of my rig. Just cause you build a motor for big big hp doesn't mean you can't hunt for mpg out of it too.
