the pic in the avatar is beaver springs, usually every so often we rent the track out with a group of guys on a friday morning, usually we have 8-10 grand nationals, mustangs, camaros, and 1 duramax(mine) towing a 87 grand national or my 89 turbo trans am pace car. I know we have an other rental coming up but i am not sure what day it is.When we do all you guys on the east coast are welcome.I will post it up when i know the date.

Sounds like a good time...Grand Nationals are my favorite cars of the 80's.

We went up a couple years ago and where the only diesels there. We tried going up one time for the Friday night street race, now that they have a diesel class, and they wouldn't let us in due to special Nostalgia night.

Don't straight center links kill your turning radius?
For the turn radius fans out there, it's almost exactly the same if you measure before and after. Only difference is the inside turning tire doesn't go over center any more so it pushes slightly more on the out side tire. Tire wear is about the same if the alignment is done correctly (no + or - on any adjustments). This is made for safety reasons when performance is on the menu. It's for the utmost control for straight line performance (unlike the stocker which compromises this).

Straight from the horses mouth;)

I never broke or bent a tie rod on mine before sleeves and centerlink. Heck i broke a CV shaft before i hurt a tie rod.

With my sleeves and centerlink my front end stays nice a straight.

My turning radius seemed worse and the tires seem to be on ice skates with my centerlink. Mine is a Crank It Up centerlink though.

Here is a write up for how to turn up your t bars.

I was thinkin with my truck not having many mods, I would b fine with just sleeves, but not the case. Best I can do with efi is 2.0 60ft. Any harder than a 1800rpm start and my truck bounces. This is with 25psi n tires-pyo, bolts all the way down... Glad to know I just need a centerlink and not braces. This will save some money!

So your saying with your centerlink your turning radius sucks and having other issues?

:confused:no clue about the tires on skates. Some people say they loose a ton of turing radius and others don't seem to notice much change at all. I think it depends on the Center link. Super Diesel seems to be the best from what I have read.

I just ordered one from crank it up the other day.. Hope I don't regret that?

its not a diesel class, its a BST (bone stock truck)class so gas trucks are welcome to. its usually a diesel that is the fastest in the class tho. when you go let me know I will try to be there.

With a straight centerlink I see no reason at all for braces. As was said the braces are to try to prevent the stock bent CL from twisting when force is applied on the ends. A straight CL has no reason to twist when force is applied to the ends and even it is does twist the steering geometry is not affected by it anyway. We run and sell Crank it Up Diesel sleeves and centerlinks (without braces) on both of our 820+hp trucks that we race on cheater slicks and sled pull with and we have had no problems with toe in, steering, pitman or idler arms, or tie rods. With a proper alignment I don't have the "tires are skates" feeling (whatever he meant be that) and I don't feel the turning radius was affected much at all. I think from people reading about it they are reporting a placebo affect.
