When the 06's become available will they use the stock CAC tubes? Just wondering if the outlets are bigger than stock and if upgrading the tubes would help. If so, who sells the tubes that will work with this unit?

I pushed 40-50 for a year before pushing it over 60. Not long after going over 60 it started leaking. Some people have problems at 30, others claim to not have problems with over 60. My recommendation is to test for leaks, especially if you see a drop in boost or start running slower times with no other changes to the truck.

I agree , i never knew i had a leak, with my twins i didnt even see a drop in boost . I didnt find out untill i sold it to a freind of mine , dont know how long it had been leaking but it was .

Hey guys, we are working on some new intercooler tubes for our Duramax Intercooler kits... where are you guys seeing the majority of the boot failures; lowers, uppers or just all of them?

Trying to keep cost competitive, if you had to replace only two of the boots which two would you replace.

We will likely offer all of them but are looking for feedback form the gurus!

I would like to see you offer 3" boost tubes similar to what banks does, it would really help sales too. I would prefer if they were configured to use straight boots at all locations.

I blew out 2 of the bottom driver's side boots in one night when I had the stock intercooler and another a few days later. That angled boot didn't like the boost. If you could make the bend be in the tubing and have it use a straight boot there, that would be great. I had to cut my driver's side Banks tube into 3 pieces, reconfigure it and add about 4" total to it to get it from my S400 to my intercooler with a straight boot on each end - haven't had an issue since. Best part about using straight boots everywhere is if I blow one I cut the length I need off of a long piece of straight 3".

Also if you make the tube right you would be able to use an LB7/LLY intercooler in an LBZ by simply using a different passenger side tube - no need to redesign.

I have had 1 problem with driver side boot and Banks pipes, and keep having an issue with the way the banks pipe / hose come off the charger in the factor spot. Keeps slipping, so i clamp it down harder that then bows the end of the boot... i'm on my third turbo to tube boot, and 2nd lower boot.

I too would love to see a tube with as casual of a bend as possible, but to allow for a straight boot going into the intercooler....

Only problem with that is it depends on spacing, pedestal, and compressor outlet type it wouldn't be a one size fits all deal. If it was a 2 piece driver's side pipe with a silicone coupler long enough to accommodate from stock up to an S400 sitting about as high as possible, then it would be great for everyone.

Either way you can cut it and weld in an extension or roll a bead onto each side and use a silocon boot.

if it was made for the GT42 or S400 as if it was sitting as high up as possible without hitting the firewall, then any modifications for lower pedistals would be simplest and only require 1 cut and weld

Not sure about the demand for boots, but like I said having the tubing made to eliminate the need for angled boots would be awesome for racers and pullers. We could carry one long piece of 3" silicone and cut off what we need to replace a blown boot. And they are less prone to failure in the first place.

make sense to me... R&D is saying that it completely doable so i expect that's the way we will be going. I will keep you guys updated.
