I dont understand why a company like that just give 10 or 15 rods out to some builder and see if they hold up. If they sell rods and they say all the B.S that they will hold power then why not give them out and prove to the public or even pay some people to have them run the rods. It would help them sell rods alot faster and prove that their design is worth it.

You are completely forgetting that when a rod fails, it causes $7,500+ collateral damage......... You are out a crapload more money than just the cost of the rods themselves. Not to mention another 100+ man hours to swap engines and rebuild the damn thing again. Ive been there and it sucks. Ever tried pulling a duramax with a crankshaft that wont turn over? Makes it a good time trying to get the torque converter off the flexplate with a crank that is locked up. Thats why my engine now is mostly back to stock and Im 100% happy daily-driving it at ~425rwhp with the factory 95 mph speed limiter back in place.... It just gets old/dumb/expensive.

I don't know a single person that even has the Manley rods in their engine and have a good amount of high power miles on them.

Honestly, Carrillo's/Crowers are a proven design, and for the cost of even rebuilding a stock engine, let alone a built engine, it's too much of a risk to try a new rod for the 90% of us on here.

I have manley rods in my motor at 956rwhp and 1638ft/lbs, and it currently has 13,629 miles on it! I have had zero problems thus far.. knock on wood.

This is the kind of thing we need to hear about. Do you race or pull your truck? If so, how has it done?

It would be nice to hear from people like Guy or other shops who have sold/installed them.

I mainly daily drive it, although it does see track time every now and then. Truck has run 11.69 on tune 3 with no converter lock up, with a weight of 7060 lbs with me in it. That was launching at 12-15 psi of overall boost. So I guess now it's time to get a new tcm tune, and some other goodies and shoot for 10's!

So when the crank fails to the point of locking the rotating assembly, what do you have to do?

Take the engine and trans out together, remove the lower pans and unbolt the rods from the crank?

Just curious...

The Allison can be removed with the converter still bolted to the flywheel. I've had to do this a few times with frozen engine. Just be carefull and wiggle it out. No problem.

Go for it! You can give feedback on how they do, and be the tester! If it does work out, good on you, and I if it doesn't you Will be a hero for exposing another POS budget rod scam. Win- win in my book.

What's your point?

You get a proven product that works with no worry. It is just like Exergy, Industrial, DDP, Extrude hone. They all sell the same parts with variations'. But everyone pushes Exergy because of the product, and end result. I have been inside Exergy and it is probably cleaner then a hospital lol.
