Last cold day of the season and truck would not start for me. :mad:

Batteries are a solid 3-4 years old so not surprised but looking around and it seems that you can't get 34/78 anymore unless their optimas?

Prob grab another pair of advance auto gold 78s but I do like that charging studs on the 34/78 battery.

I have Sears Platinum for my LBZ. Work really well except for the fact that the lower edge of the case where the clamp hits is pretty weak. Broke the lip and now the battery bounces all over the place..

I installed 2 new Delco's right from the dealer. They increased the CCA's on the new replacements. Price was not bad at all.

I went with 2 AGM batteries, no concerns about corroded battery cables, adding water, water draining on the passenger battery and filling it from the cowl on the 2006 and older trucks, 3 years so far.

What did they increase it to Mike?

I had my stock AC Delcos for 11 years, had one go bad at about 5 years and both took a dump last winter pretty friggin good for many many -40+ winters and summers in the upper 80's:thumb:

I'm running Cat batteries now more CCA than the Delco's and I get them for a good price.

DiE hard platinum AGM from sears. Had them for 4 years, don't use the truck much and has always started. Only thing is they don't have the reverse terminals for the drivers side. I had to extend mine but some say they can get it to stretch. Never had a problem with the hold down part

I think they ar 790 CCA now

I was going to go with cat but now I'm probably going to make a tray and move both of them to the frame. And then run group 31 truck batteries. Or some bigger cat batteries.

I put the interstate megatron plus's in my truck,,get them at wholesale for $140 a pop.last set lasted 8yrs.still started truck but a weak cp3 and bad injector made it tough on the batteries w/ extended cranking.

I'm giving up on buying good batteries. I'm just going to get something with a good priced and a good warranty. My Cats "Deka" haven't lasted but 3 years and I got 4 out of the pos Bosch.
