Axle Dump Exhaust

I ran mine that way for a few weeks. Hated the soot being everywhere.

Mine I guess was pointed just right, or the truck was low enough I don't think it ever got real bad soot. Mine dumped but kicked toward the stock exit to the passenger side rear. My truck is red to so maybe it didn't show up as bad.
I ran mine dumped for a bit. 5" MBRP with a muffler and 6" tip. Muffler killed most of the drone and I never really had an issue with soot under the truck. I also don't put a ton of miles on it so that probably helped with the cleanliness. Truck is also black with a rollpan and everything is tucked up nice so it isn't like you would see it show up on the bumper or hitch.

i run a turn down right behind the back passenger seat. had it that way for years and never got turned away from any track. i dont race NHRDA professionally though where i expect it could be an issue. at a normal T&T night, i dont see it being an issue.
i actually plan to run the exhaust all the way out the back at some point. having a second turbo and a muffler on really keeps sound down but im noticing just how loud the cab is compared to newer trucks so id like to quite it down some if possible. my hearing sucks anyhow lol

It is definitely 100% better than my stack which likes to shoot black water all over the roof and bed lol
Drone, yes on mine, soot none, I dropped it to just below the axle tube seems the hotter the OAT is the worse it is drone wise. I never noticed how bad the drone was on mine as most of my driving had been in the morning before noon. I was driving home from Black Canyon City about a 2-3 in the afternoon 110+ degrees OAT and it got loud. Tail pipe went back on the next day.
Mines a 5" MagnaFlow and it didn't drone. It did add vibration to the cab and bed.

I was thinking of dumping my 4" flo-pro just behind the axle, too. I pull a trailer all the time and the right side gets pretty sooty. A dump would help it to stay cleaner, right?
If you're putting soot on the trailer now, a dump will still put soot on the trailer, it will just spread it out across the front of the trailer. If you are lucky, most of it might go under the trailer, but I suspect you will just end up spreading the soot, not eliminating it.
How does that Flo pro sound? Is it straight piped. I have 4in and after the new turbo install its a little raspy at higher rpms. Will 5" help out.
Might want to consider the vibration as it might be worse towing, now that dozerboy mentions it when I put my foot into it on the freeway it could get a pretty nasty vibration not to mention the drone. This is with a resonator the size of catalytic converter and a 40"x 8" muffler, I'd live with the soot but the vibration and drone, no.
