Are LBZ rods "proven" to hold up in mild engine builds?

Is thier anyone currently pushing 700hp with lbz rods in a DD? Reason im asking is because im planning a small mild build with LBZ rods and coated lb7 pistons among other little things. but i dont want to use lbz rods if their is a chance of them bending at 700hp. (i mean bend beyond the "even a stock truck can bend a rod theory).

So anyone runnin lbz rods in their motor build?

Yes it is common. Kyle ran them and beat them into submission, not above 750hp though. Dylan is running them and has also beat them and dynoed 630 with a blown secondary charger and slipping clutch

im sure they would but i think the biggest factor would be tuning.
FYI the lbz rods are only 15% stronger than lb7 rods

I'm still completely stock motor without studs and dyno 765hp and run mid 11's and have been like this all summer. Tuning and how you make the power are the biggest factors in death to the rods. If you have the motor apart to build get some "real" rods and don't look back, don't waste your time putting stock rods back in it.:thumb:

Decisions decisions....if i go with a mild build i can get a block, lbz rods, and lb7 pistons for under 500 bucks. id get the pistons coated of coarse. but the last thing i wanna do is waste my time and money with lbz rods if they are not gonna last at 700rwhp. i would love to be able to get a badass set of rods but that wont be able to happen for a very long time.

What makes you think you will be happy with 700rwhp ? If your not then you have a bunch of time and money into a motor that still isn't up to the task at hand. If your going to build it put some real deal rods in it even if you have to put the build off until you can get some.

the reason im even thinking about a build is because im paranoid as f*ck about hurting my motor with this big turbo. i still have stock injectors and a stock cp3 so i know i probably dont have much to worry about but im thinking more along the lines of if this motor were to blow in 3 months what my options are.

X2 i dont have really anything into my rebuild with lmm rods but ive been pushing around 600hp an want more so im sure when i do twins these poor rods wont last long under 45% overs dual cp3s an alot of air. 700 would be pushing it for stock rods imo some might last forever some might bend first run.. but its ultimately your truck and your choice either way let us know :thumb:

IMO I wouldn't do anything to the motor until you have to. Get some good safe tunes, run it and dont look back. Theres plently of guys running bigger set ups on stock motors. Just gotta keep in mind that at those hp levels its not gonna last forever, but hey, built motors dont last forever either......

I wouldn't hesitate to use LBZ rods in a mild build if I knew I could keep the tuning conservative. After its all said and done your only a set of dual fuelers away from way more power and I think you'll regret being limited by the rods.

i was kicking the ever loving crap out of both my motors. one with lbz pistons and one with delipped lb7 pistons and both with lbz rods.

they were both run with give or take 600rwhp and not "detorqued" in tuning. they ran like bats out of hell and towed with my race tunes.

both of them held up just fine the death of one set of injectors was due to some bad fuel but the motor was fine.
