Anyone know of an app for a smart phone where you can remotely start your truck and turn it off?like if your away from your truck you could start it and let it idle then cut it off after it warms up
Yep the GM one lol it uses Onstar
thats only on the 2011+ trucks......
theres no way you are going to get some kind of "app" for your phone that will let you remote start without a monthly bill of some sort.
Think about it. Its (the remote start signal) gotta go over the cell network, because bluetooth range is only about 30 feet. And then you gotta have something in the truck receive the cell phone signal/communicate over the cell network (whether its an aftermarket remote starter, onstar, whatever)...
you cant just send data over the cell network for free...so any which way you slice it, theres going to be some sort of recurring fee for a device like that.

100-200 miles. If I'm out of town and my truck sits at the shop(my work) I dnt want the battery's getting low or just sitting for long periods of time. This way I can start it up once or twice a week and let it run for an hr or two while I'm gone.
X2Theres no reason to start your truck once or twice a week to "keep the batteries up" They can sit a lot longer than that without going dead
