If you threw a code without getting any fuel in the bottle than the FPRV is fine and should be left alone. The next thing to check is positive pressure past the factory filter. If you don't have pressure change your fuel filter(s), if that doesn't help than your lift pump is suspect. If you have positive pressure then you are just demanding more fuel pressure than what your CP3 can keep up with based on the PW you are asking for and to fix it you will have to either ask for less pressure or less PW - typically keeping pressure above 21,000 is best.

He is runnin the ppe level 6. You think with the shim mod and lift pump that the cp3 still cant keep up with the PW in the level six.

Cp3s can get weak after time, bad regulator or just not enough fuel from the lift pump

If he could rule out the lift pump that would be a start

Got the adapter in. Where am I supposed to put it? There is no way it goes where the bleeder screw is. The threads are completely different. Thanks in advance.
Man, I'm sorry, but I just found out the other day that the link I gave you is no longer any good. The screw in the filter housing is 10 mm x 1.5 pitch, which is what the link is supposed to go to. Unfortunately the company must have stopped carrying that particular adapter, and instead of being a bad link, they redirect it to an adapter that is 10 mm x 1.0 pitch. The only other place I know of to get the correct adapter is here: http://lubricationspecialist.com/front/shop.aspx?catid=10&parentid=0&productid=42 The good thing about it is you can get a T-fitting so you can use the needle valve and still have a spot to screw in the sending unit.

Damn. Guess I will have to order that up. It wouldn't be so bad but they kicked me right in the groin with shipping. 10 bucks to ship that stupid little adapter.

**Update**

Got the gauge hooked up and did some pressure tests. First up I put the regulator at 12 PSI idling. Took it for a test drive. WOT run it drops to around 6 - 6 1/2 PSI. Still throws a code. Got home and cranked it up to 15 PSI idling. Took it out yet again and still dropped to 6 - 6 1/2 PSI and threw the code again. What ya guys thinking? I'm talking to a bunch of people off the site too and I appreciate all there help. Cant have too many people helping you with an issue. Thanks alot guys.

Really hoping someone can chime in here. Fuel filter still has roughly 70% life on it. No leaking WIF sensor. What about a small leak on the engine side of the lift pump? There is a drip on one of the fittings that doesn't seem to leave any puddles on the ground, but there is always a drip "chillin" there when I crawl under there and check things out. Is there any way this could be causing issues?

Do you still have the leak?

Any fuel is not good!!!

Yes there is a small "leak". It doesnt drip, it just hangs there. There isnt ever a puddle under my truck. I think there may be something wrong with my pump. According to the manual, 10 PSI of pressure on the regulator should be backed out completely and turned in one full turn. I have it turned in almost all the way and it is now at 12 PSI.

EDIT: Doug I need to get my OS number to you. Sorry for the delay.

any updates??? ive got the same damn problem and have had it forever... once i get up and going at about 90 i throw the code... my pump is turned ALL THE WAY UP. havent checked the filter psi yet cause i dont have an adapter. BUT one thing i know we both have is the fuel drops just chilling on the bottom of my pump, with no leaks on the street...(could be the problem but i never really thought that could be it) maybe ill use some liquid teflon glue on my fittings, as of now i jsut have thread tape and orings off a paintball guns co2 tank on the fittings.... and yes my pump is running too
