Hey guys,

I was curious as to how many turns on the pressure regulator on the AD 165 everyone is running? I just shimmed my FPRV and when WOT around 90 - 100MPH I throw a P0087 code. I'm thinking i'm not pushing enough pressure with the AD.

P.S. I know it comes pre-set, but I been playin' with it.

Also, anyone with the manual, can you check for me and see what it says to do to set the AD to Duramax pressure? I believe it said to turn it all the way out and one turn in, or vise-versa. This would help me alot as I dont have access to my manual at this point.

Make sure that you tightened the FPRV enough, might still be bleeding pressure there. With just about any lift pump and a stock LBZ CP3 you should be able to be pushing over 500hp without dropping under 21,000 PSI.

I'm thinking that may be my problem. I adjusted the regulator last night and still threw a code. I dont smell any diesel under the hood though. Do you usually smell the diesel? Thanks guys!

Maybe its because I dont understand how the system works, but the valve is in the end of the fuel rail right? When that pops, what happens? Where does it go? Why would tightening down on the actual valve stop this from happening? Sorry for the newb questions. Just recently started reading up on the fuel system.

Tightened the FPRV down to the point that I was uncomfortable pushing it anymore. This bitch is TIGHT!!!. I guarantee that. Took it for a drive, still no good. Still tossing codes. Whats the next step? BTW if it makes any difference, i'm running PPE's level 6 tune.

lol i'm not sure that I want to toy around with Rob's race tune on a stock tranny. Either way, I still have the issue of tossing the code. I have no clue where to go from here.

Really hoping someone can chime in here. Fuel filter still has roughly 70% life on it. No leaking WIF sensor. What about a small leak on the engine side of the lift pump? There is a drip on one of the fittings that doesn't seem to leave any puddles on the ground, but there is always a drip "chillin" there when I crawl under there and check things out. Is there any way this could be causing issues?

Its the model number for an Airdog II with the adjustable regulator. Can you point me in the direction of how to perform the bottle test?

Sorry brother, i'm confused. Where exactly does the 3/8th line get clamped on to? I thought I had an idea but then I looked at your last pic and can see the "horse shoe" line your talking about and it looks untouched.

there is a line that comes out of the fuel rail relief valve this needs to go to the bottle

the other end needs to be plugged that goes into the return line

a even more simple way is to put vice grips on the hose to pinch it shut if the hose blows off you know its leaking:D BAD IDEA;)

I would take out your FPRV and shim it some more. Mine is probably shimmed enough that it is not possible to open any more.

The bottle test will tell you if that is the problem or not though. Basically, the line off the end of the rail from the FPRV... you route that into a bottle(making a tape "bung" on the hose and jamming it into a 395ml pop bottle works). Where it connected was the fuel return line, just plug that for now. Then go out, bag on it until you get a 1093 or a 0083 or whatever the fuel code is. And if there fuel in the bottle, you know its the FPRV that has issues.
