in the two upper pans i have drilled and tapped for a turbo drain; i used a 90* drill ,overfilled a quart or two, and used a shop vac to suck out the shavings / extra oil. neither motor had any bearing or oil pump problems.

Wich is the exact way it was done, just like 99% of people twinned have done. That is a crazy amount in the pan, since most say the excess oil pushes the shavings out!

I did mine this way, when I dropped my pan there was easily the same amount of shavings in mine. I won't be taking that "short cut" anymore and always pull the lower pan (but I weld a fitting on the lower pan instead of drilling).

the first time i did mine i drilled and tapped with oil in the engine still. 7 months later had the pan off but didnt have any amount of shavings like that.
but i did like heep jeep mentioned and i welded on fittings to the lower pan for the new engine build. my upper pan always had a slow leak that was annoying.
