Anyone have a rear main install tool that I can rent?

Just read up about this and it looks like the tool is necessary to ensure correct installation. Anyone have one that I can borrow/rent from you for a couple days?

I don't have one Chris, the front and rear covers were on my engine when I picked it up.

No they won't....I have the merchant set. The front has to be machined as a cup to go over the front snout and has a keyway groove machined it to go around the key groove. The rear has a lip on it to seat it at the right depth in the rear cover. I have the merchant ones and work great

Sent PM, have the covers installed and new seals sitting on the workbench ready to go in, so I can have the tools turned around within a day or two of receiving them.

I'm curious how many they sell. Can't cost them much to make but I'd be curious how many they have to sell to recoup their development costs, whatever those are.

I actually have that set already, the largest driver is nowhere near big enough, not to mention the seating depth as mentioned above.

Developmental costs are crazy....when I worked at Maryland performance diesel, we had got a new haas CNC machine and it cost us like 10k to design the 6.0 remote oil cooler plate, between paying the guy to come measure and trial and error, to figment check, material etc. The next one cost $100 bucks from material and the machine did the rest.
