Did you notice that the red on the gauges changed at all when you removed the blue off the back? Also I started doing my overlay tonight with the nail polish remover and that is way easier. :thumb:

Its a lighter orange instead. Just be careful on the 4 gauges on the right side. On mine the black seemed thinner

I will watch the black. I have been taking my time so I don't bugger up the overlay. I left the silkscreen on under the red portions of the gauges since I am staying with factory needles. I'd like them to match.

So how am I supposed to remove the needles and put the new overlay on and get them lined up right? Do I just pull the needles off where they sit when I shut the truck off?

I haven't done this yet, but I have been told you can take a piece of paper and sketch out where the needles sit at idle. Then you have a way to compare and put the cluster back in, start the truck and put the needles where they're supposed to be.
They make a needle removal tool but I've seen people use forks. Just be careful and take your time.

Its a PITA. I leave the front cover off and use scan tool data to set the needles. There's gotta be a better way but I haven't figured it out.... I use 2 spoons to pull the needles, the tools bend too much.

U set all the needles to where they stop stick tape behind them and mark where the needles go with a marker then take them off with a fork

Got it done today and I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Check engine light came on while I was switching clusters so I need to get that turned off. :D
Other than that it's good.

Looks good. I ordered everything to do it last night. Did you use 5mm LEDs or a strip?

I actually sent my cluster to US Speedo because my DIC wasn't working so they fixed it and put their LED kit in while it was there. I just had to take it apart and take the silkscreen off the back of the gauge overlay to get the white LEDs to show through.
