Long story short, I bought a 06 CC LBZ off line last week and I need it moved from Mississippi to N.Y... I have it listed on U-ship currently but I have not recieved any bids I'm liking yet;) Figured I would try here and let U-ship do there thing for one more day. Worst case scenario I will just fly down and drive it home if I can Not get a reasonable offer on shipping...... Thanks :thumb:.......

Try Ron Watts (h2oskibumz). I'm not sure if he's on here much anymore since he got rid of his duramax and got a kw T300 but he can should be able to hook you up. Last time I talked to him he was around 60 cents a mile. His number is 573-424-6500

Jason, You could alwasys pay me to fly down there and drive it up! I'll just need a pre-tuned ecm, and a gas card. Always wanted to see mississippi

We think alike, lol... I was thinking screw it I'll throw my lap top EFI and a fews days worth of clothes in a back pack and fly down. Memphis, Nashville and a handful of other places are on the way back;) But then reality kicks in (Wife, Kids) And the fact I have plowing contracts and other obligations I can't really leave in limbo for a week of traveling :beer2: :shots: and fun.... Damn!! It's no fun being all grown up :(:D

I would not mind paying a little more to a forum member here I know would take care of it.. Right after I posted this thread here a company (Broker) out of florida called and said he could have it on a trailer tomorrow and in NY by friday. He also said it would remain on the same truck the entire trip and would be a total of $795.00 to my door 1,236 miles.. Seemed like a really good deal considering most bids on U-Ship were closer to $1,300.xx The fact it was so cheap makes me a bit nervous but so does buying a truck 1200 miles away site on seen, guess I'll cross my fingers and hope for the best.. ;)

Kevin @ Progressive Auto Transport is the broker and AMG Express, INC is the carrier..

ah never heard of them. thought maybe it was one of the ones we have used here.

on a side note, google has quite a few reveiws on that company. most good, few bad but i wouldnt expect 100% good record on a trucking company. Least ive never seen one :D

My over head is .70 a mile right now im usually clearing1.50 per mile. A fullsize truck maxes a 26+4 trailer out. I also factor in deadhead miles to where im picking up.
1300 miles is a 2-2.5 day haul from pickup pending pickup time. 800.00 for a ~8000lb 23' vehicle aint bad. Driver probably see 80% of that once you factor broker cut

I did a google search as well, Progressive seems legit with some bad reviews but over all pretty good. AMG the actual transporter is listed with U-ship with no feed back, There is a website for them but no reviews there either. I will leave this thread open and post the out come..

I am assuming since I had to give Progressive $150.00 up front, that is there cut as the brokers. So that only leaves $645 for the driver/shipment company. From what I gathered it is a tractor/car transport truck that can transport UP two 9 vehicles at once. At those prices you would need to be constantly picking up and dropping vehicles state to state over the routes to make any money. I looked at driving down with the goosneck and picking it up but I would be over $1,800 easy picking it up myself. Then the option to fly down and drive it back up, I was still right around 8-9 hundred for flight and fuel add in lodging, food, etc and this was by far the most economical route assuming the truck actually shows up close to on time without damage.. Guess will see.......

Just make sure you check the truck good from top to bottom. The ghy that brought my turck to ill from texas let the chain hang down and chiped my windsheild and I didn't notice that they must have set the top rack down on the roof of my truck, probably while loading or unloading another up on top.It wasn't bad and I was able to hit the headliner in the right spot to pop it back out, just left a mark on the roof.

Yes I will check it over good. I actually bought my 05 from texas some were around 2006-7 and also a BMW for my wife awhile back from texas. My 05 showed up with a chipped windshield and a small dent on the rocker panel:mad: Her Beemer had previous paint work that was not disclosed by the dealer and there were no records of a accident on the history report.. It's kind of a damned if you do damned if you dont scenario living in the North east. Most of the used duramax's up here are beat up work trucks and the salt just destroys the under carriage's. Literally one year old trucks will be covered in surface rust underneath if not well kept / washed regulary.. On the other hand it sucks buying things site on seen but I would rather deal with a ding or dent VS a beat up (RUSTED) overpriced N.Y. truck... ;)

Its a shame this isn't happening in July. I have a job in Austin texas, I could pick it up on the way home and get it to NC for the price of fuel.
