E shift valve won't do that. Look at the trim valves and gain valves and make sure you know what you're looking at.

Due to the proximity of the henway to the transmission, I'd suggest checking it's nut for tightness.
It is the nut between the steering wheel and the throttle pedal. I'll see if I can find a picture. A loose nut can be real trouble.
