I'll be honest, we have no plans to upgrade our flexplates. I haven't seen enough failures to determine the stock part can't handle the job.

I'd make a more serious effort to find the root cause if I were you. If you don't find the real problem, you can't ever REALLY fix it.

I minus will do this shit right

You 'might as well'??

Kurt you still need to find the root cause of the problem. Because if you do a billet flexplate, the root problem still exists and you will probably start breaking other things. Converter? Crankshaft? Stop throwing parts at it, you could have built a very nice tranny for the amount you have wasted on flexplates.

If its not the dowel pins or something else not being installed right, I dont know what it is, but I will tell you your problem is NOT too much power.

Everything is quite simple as far as the flexplate is. I know throwing parts at something isnt the thing to do. And lord knows i dont need to screw the crank. I dont see what can cause this.

Let me ask u this and if u say yes its my problem i promise. Will hard shifing break a flexplate??

How hard is it shifting? From what i have seen hard shifting is caused from the VB. I had some real real hard shifts before and it was a broken spring in VB. My flex plate never broke tho???? Mine would down shift so hard the tires would break loose.

I dunno if you would be able to do it with broken parts but, have a friend of yours hold the brakes and brake-boost your truck while you look at everything to see what happens. I have seen one guy break a motor mount and when he put alot of power to it the engine torque twisted and it jacked his trans.

Newly thats my truck all day long. Down shifts the cd player will skip. And it will upshift so hard at 1/4 throttle or less it will knock my cell phone off the visor

This is not normal.

Is this the VB that you had a bitch of a time getting together before??

And if I were you, I would go stock tune in the tranny and engine and see how it shifts. If it's still NFG, I'd start digging into the VB-something ain't right.

x1000 on stock tune in the ECM and tcm. Then try and figure it out.

Hope it isn't too bad Kurt, but it would give you an excuse to have Mike L send out a rebuild kit for it.;)

Next step is to put a stock ecm tune in it. I have always ran a stock tcm so i know it isnt that tune. I will load my stock tune when the truck gets going problemy tonight and see what she does for shiting

From a few posts up:

Shifting hard will break everything from a harmonic balancer to the wheel rims and everything in between.

Think of it this way. I can tighten a bolt to 100ftlb using a breaker bar, or I can tighten it to 100ftlb with an air impact. I'm far more likely to snap the bolt with air impact. Many of you have seen the same.

One of the "secrets" of Casper's good driveline life is soft shifts. I'm willing to give up a little ET in exchange for part life. You can't win a race when you're busted.

This my freind is my drivetrain problem then. If you ever rode in a dodge with a built tranny it would be like a dodge x50 no exzagration on how it shifts
