Good point, probably just stick with stock parts for now. I know that clutch isn't going to last forever.

And I did run it low on fuel a few times. I was rushing all over hells half acre last week and low fuel light came on 2 or 3 times before I could get to my gas station. Me and my dad have always used the same station and he's never had a problem. It's a sunoco truck stop and they're about 10-15 cents cheaper than every other place in town so I don't like filling up anywhere else if I can avoid it.

When i ran mine almost out of fuel my injectors took a shit like 2 tanks later. No matter where you get diesel from its going to have trash in it and that trash will settle to the bottom of the tank so the lower you run it the more likely you are to have problems. When did you last change your filter?

Yeah thats about how long it took me. I think I was at about a tank and a half after the last time low fuel light came on. And I change the filter every oil change. Which was about a thousand miles ago. Just changed it again yesterday before it started smoking and really running bad thinking it was plugged up. I put some dieselkleen in the filter along with clean diesel when I put it on. Then took it for the test drive and thats when it started smoking grey and really running like crap.

I know of at least one set of pensecola's that have crapper out shortly after replacing. They don't carry a very strong reputation.

Mackin, my remarks about 2 stroke flushing junk was more or less a question & posted as a "thinking out loud" statement. I thought I put a question mark in there, no? At any rate, I've ran it with 165k miles on my fuel system (you'd think it'd be gunked up good by then :D ) with no ill effects. Just positive results. How do you figure the 2 stroke helps lubricocity? By removing gunk & buildup allowing parts to operate like they're supposed to or does it just slick up whatever it attaches itself to with no cleaning aspects to it? I woulda guessed both? I can't remember if that was part of that in-depth study that was covered on DieselPlace a few years ago or not?

Do you know one way or another?

Nope no clue. I didn't or even think that 2-stroke oil would have any cleaning effect only for additional lubrication properties in low sulfur fuel. Where as sulfur as a lubricant in diesel fuel. Using 2-stroke oil as oppose to other additives just IMO makes it cheaper and easier to access. The only down side I could see would be that it would possibly lower the cetane number but I suppose you'd have to add quite a bit in order to see a drop. Most other additives bump up the cetane rating.

Thats my thoughts I don't see a connection of 2-stroke oil being a cleaning agent but what do I know, nuttin.

Well I looked through all the vendors on forum and unless I missed something the only place that sold original equipment injectors was socal diesel. And they're reasonably priced at about 2,049 I think. I may go that route. I also found this site
http://lincolndiesel.webs.com/ Lincoln Diesel Specialties. Anybody ever heard of them? I called and talked to the guy because the site was down for maintenence, he said 1700 Shipped for bosch (remanned I'm sure, he didn't say)
Also about the pensecola people, do they not honor the year warranty or do they go bad in a year and a day, smokeshow?

This is good news. If I had the money I'd go with socal to keep it in the forum family so to speak but I just have to find the best deal possible. Being a college student sucks!

Well just got back from the shop. It's the #7 injector. My guy did not have a tech 2 or anything like that so I do not know what the line pressures or anything is. But he was able to shut down each injector and the only one that didnt really change was the #7. So I am going to replace all 4 on the passenger side. His place is NOT a diesel shop so I know this wasn't the best route, but he offered to do it for free so what could it hurt. He also told me the truck was ok to drive as long as it wasn't letting fuel into the crankcase. He told me give it a real healthy dose of injector cleaner in the fuel tank and run the truck for a few days to try to work out any more crap in the system. If it doesn't get any worse just order and change the passenger side but if it gets worse bring it back to him and make sure I don't need to do drivers side too. What do y'all think? You're not going to hurt my feelings if you say he's full of sh**.

IF i drove it i would remove any kind of programmer and give it a double dose of powerservice without the cetane boost and some twostroke. But with one hung open there is a chance of burning a hole in a piston. You need to figure out if its stuck open or closed.
