Great I hit 42-44 lbs on rare occasion an 574??? Wtf 6-8 weeks I can't have this thing down that long I don't have a sticker or anything to.replace it with fck thy will probably tell.me to.piss off on a warranty :mad:

Well hopefully you have better luck then me:), In BD's defense, I did not buy the turbo directly through them and I had a modified housing in preperation for my twins To come.. So the turbo had to go through a couple set of hands to get a factory housing put back on and then to BD. Then when BD got it, (Within a week of leaving me) it went to there turbo/warranty department and in the end BD is not the one who makes the decision to void or approve a warranty, (SO THEY SAY) According to BD its the manufacturer of the turbo that decides if the turbo was used beyond its intended design and if the warranty should be honored or not. I am sure I am stepping on some toes here and I really dont want to come off ungratefull since I did get a warrantied turbo in the end. also the company I originally purchased the turbo through really went to bat for me with BD, and also ate the shipping cost's on the turbo both ways.. I just felt like I should not have had to wait 8 weeks for a replacement on a turbo that was a couple weeks old, with 1100 miles on it:rolleyes: I pre-oiled the turbo twice before firing the engine, I know for a fact there was no debre in the system, I had a factory CP3 and never exceeded there rated HP numbers or max boost #'s and there were no kinks or other restrictions in the oiling system, yet I still had to hound them and plea my case numerous times before they sent me a replacement... I know some of you guys have had good luck with these turbo's but yet theres way to many failures occuring to be all operator/installer error IMHO..... Point is if you disclose what you did in the above post I seriously doubt they are going to warranty anything for you... Sorry for being the bearer of bad news and hopefully I am wrong, good luck to you...

It took 11 weeks to finally get an answer on the one I had go out. I purchased another one through the dealer I bought originally from. Luckily I didn't have to pay anything until after BD made up their minds on what they would do. The final answer was I got a new one for 300 bucks but they would not fully warranty it. I got the story about "we never had a failure like yours...this is the first one to fail like this" it was all a bunch of bull....

I put on an S464 that I got from Trent. It's a nice turbo and spools not bad-pretty much the same as Wes' vid. I towed my 8000lb holiday trailer last night and it did awesome. Quite happy with it so far.

The S4 chassis takes a little more work to install though.

As it has a 5" inlet on the compressor side, it makes the intake piece a little tricky to build on an LBZ. Mine turned out not bad, but you will need a skilled fabricator to build something. I also shaved the v-band flange off as I couldn't find one in town on short notice and put a 4"x3" boot on it for the hot pipe.

Also, the outlet on the exhaust is a 4" v-band just so y'all know.

Why do you think BD should cover your turbo failure when you have an oil dilution problem ? Looks like you've figured your problem out in the paragraph above. Bearing kits are cheap for an S300. Give us a call if you need one.

So your saying aftermarket turbos can't take That????my stocker took it numerous times so why wouldnt a better built aftermarket do worse maybe I'm missing something enlighten me?? Not trying to offend either..an the fuel in oil wasn't real bad upon draining it I had no more oil then usual....I took apart both sides tonight an checked return lines to see if I could see anything loose or something nothing outta the ordinary replaced the number 3 line maybe that will fix it..also cleaned the shit outta the hard lines they look chrome now :D

I went through two(2) BD turbos and I do not race. I pull a fiver every once in a while. The first was prior to the oil supply line patch. When the patch came out I took the turbo in for inspectiuon and was advised nothing was wrong. A oil feed lie was installed. A few months later it was whining and took it back. The BD Turbo bearing was gone. A new turbo was put installed. When my engine let go I was advised that the BD turbo bearing was very loose and should be rebuilt. Now that could have been the result of engine failure. Nevertheless I changed the BD out for something different.
