The only thing you get in these schemes is a bunch of pissed off friends and family members and a bunch of false hopes and lies.
:happy2:
I disagree. I'm sure that's true with some things out there, but not all. You'll get pissed off friends if you're an ass and keep hammering them about it once they declined. You'll only get false hopes if you go into it with the wrong mindset. If you get involved in Amsoil, Amway, Mary Kay, etc with the "Hey, I'll pay my membership fee, sit back and watch the money roll in" expectation, you definately will be setting yourself up for failure and disapointment. No one I've ever talked to about Amway has ever lied to me or made me expect that it's a get rich quick scheme. I've always been told it will take a LOT of work. If you don't put any effort into it, you'll never get anything out of it.
Granted, there are plenty of BS schemes out there, but Amsoil and Amway are not two of them. Seriously, Amway has been around since 1959, has been BBB accredited since 1979, and
currently holds an "A" rating with the BBB. Do you really think Amway would still exist just about 52 years later if it was illegal, a scam or scheme? Do you really think the Gvt would let them continue to do business? Do you really think the BBB would give them an "A" rating? Yes, there where problems years ago, mostly due to "bad apples" dissapearing with money meant for their downline and people getting stuck with product that they where required to stock, but both those problems are gone now.
Just because you don't like something, for whatever the reason, doesn't mean it's a scam, illegal, BS, etc. It may not be for you, but that's fine. Nothing is for everyone.
Part of the problem is everyone is taught that the only way to be successful is to go to school and get a "good job". That's bull. The ONLY way to truly be successful and have any measure of control of your life is to work for youself. Granted, you can fail (and you really can't fail much worse than getting "downsized" from your job), but when you succeed working for yourself, you will be far more successful overall than you would if you where working for someone else. But like everything else, working for yourself isn't for everyone. If you like working for someone else, so be it.
