Seriously....after reading the latest Diesel World tonight, I'm wondering if I'm wrong to look at these overdone, underpowered, garishly decaled, lifted-to-the-moon, impractical trucks in these magazines and wonder,

"WHY?"

Yeah I don't get it. I got a free subscription from when I raced in the crude drags 2, and they always send me something to renew it. I don't even thumb through it at the grocery store anymore.

Only thing I read in diesel power is Kennedy's blog thats like a page or two. They finally had a somewhat practical LMM in last months issue, but it doesnt really serve a purpose..

i read both diesel power and diesel world.
this month in diesel word was especially bad for overdone lifted trucks.
and i'm no genius or anything but diesel world appears to not have spell check, there are a lot of words spelled wrong and spaced wrong.
i don't claim to be good with writing, but i am also not shipping my thoughts in word form nation wide.
just something i noticed.

Is that this truck with a paint job and more crap added?

Also this thing would look better if the rims were 20" and had some rubber on it.

Would look even better with some slick super singles!

Is it really too much to ask for them to do articles on "real world" trucks that do more than sit at autoshows, where owners actually built on their own with their own money. Just some of the time for chrissakes....

Hell, have drag racing and sled pulling sections where they outline someone's truck, and the work that went into it. Highlight sledpulling organizations and their members. Anything real....

The trucks currently in the mags are the real "ricers" of our hobby. Lots of bling, no performance.

Lol isn't that last photo ICULKN's truck, a member on this site? hahah. Some times those trucks are fun to look at but they are totally impractical. I will just keep my subscription to car craft.
