I never said I did not like the $$$$ trucks They are nice to look at. I was only pointing out I did not like the rims he has in the photo. The LMM pic was just one that looked like the Yellow LMM but with a paint job.

It would be safe to assume he hates your rims or your taste in wheels. Who cares unless you have to look at it from your window; which you don't.:thumb:

I thought you just used your truck to keep birds from crapping on the driveway?

I maybe biased, but I don't believe I am. I like lifted trucks; that's why mine is lifted. I also like seeing a bad ass street truck. And if I could afford to run my truck all the time I would have a different setup. I would rather read about the trucks that get run for the reason they were built whether it's drag racing or pulling. Everybody has there own taste, and that's why they make vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry; but I like a little bit of everything.:D

Is that this truck with a paint job and more crap added?

Also this thing would look better if the rims were 20" and had some rubber on it.

Lol isn't that last photo ICULKN's truck, a member on this site? hahah. Some times those trucks are fun to look at but they are totally impractical. I will just keep my subscription to car craft.

I saw that truck in Sac , awesome ride and it had the coolest on board air system , with portable air jacks , they were using it as mobile suport to change slicks and stuff at the track , it was very cool , and the owner Mike is a very nice and humble guy , alot of guys would let a truck like that go to there head , not him. and I love the green and bvlack paint job on the first shown

Seems like some of you guys want to dictate what a cool truck should look like because of what pleases you. You are wrong.
Everyone has different tastes and they are the only ones that they need to satisfy. Some of you prefer brunettes, blonds, redheads, or bald when it comes to women. Who has the right to tell you your judgement or tastes are wrong?
I work on a lot of trucks and see things I would never do to mine. Thing of it is; it's none of my business and it was not modded to please me.
If it pleases the owner of the truck; God bless him and I hope he is happy.:happy2:

x3 to each there own , do you guys know how much shit i have gotten in Utah for having "street based" Duramax's ? a lot................ lifted trucks are the norm here , 3 out of 4 trucks i get in the shop are lifted to some degree.

I have a lifted truck, I love it. I know Tom didn't start this thread to bash on anyone but the flavor of the month in diesel mags. I used to be a subscriber to Off Road. There for a while all the cover trucks and feature trucks were these big ass 20" lifted Fords and what not with like 46" tires and every month I would pretty much say WTF?? Where are the trail trucks or the pre runners and what not. It got old every month seeing an f350 on 46" tires in that magazine. I don't mind seeing the blinged out show rigs but I also would like to see some sweet fast street trucks or some wicked 4 linked trail truck in a diesel mag.

just my .02, i think you see "blinged out" trucks in the mags cuz they need the money from the advertisers and the advertisers need to sell parts. they scratch each other's back. i think it's great to get recognition for your hard work even if it's not everyone's cup of tea

to each his own, build your truck, or not build your truck how you want it. If I had the extra $ I would put a bigger lift and bigger rims (20's), build my tranny, lift pump, etc. I dont make my truck look like everyone else expects it to look. I build my truck to how I want it to look! If you make the payments, build it how you want it. Its your truck, not anyone elses! Just my $.02

I love lifted trucks and personally love the pics of the trucks posted. When I cant afford sled pulling anymore the first thing I will do is get a 10-12 cognito and build a street terror on 40's:woott:

Here is my first truck and I regret ever getting rid of it, even though it was for my dmax.

tahoe.jpg

Dont get me wrong I like lifted trucks, but there are trucks out there like you are talking about Travis and they dont get as much press as the real flashy ones. A guy that used to live here has an LMM with a huge cognito, 38s, twins and a trans. It might be huge but its got a lot of power and is the cleanest damn thing I have ever seen.

Back in the 80's before some of you were born Hot Rod put a desert baja racer in their mag. Everyone wrote in sayng it was a hot rod mag not a 4x4 truck mag and the truck didn't fit in so the next issue they took it to the track and ran high 10's with it:D. Point being, the mags cater to whats popular at the moment, they always have and always will.

Just saw this in Diesel World today looks pretty sick and would definitely have all eyes on it driving down the road, all that portable air would be nice to have
