Just so happens I know where to get a lightly used k31 turbo. It's all up to if I can find a truck cheap enough. Having a baby now really shrinks the budget. Mossy is really pushing me towards a dmax anyways.

if you can find a 2wd it might be cheaper than a 4wd. my roomate in college had a 2wd 6.0 and wanted to convert it to 4wd, it looked like the hubs are splined to accept cv's, i never looked to close to see if the mounting was the same under the truck where the differential goes but it would be neat to look into.

might b a cheap option to buy a 2wd and buy a tail housing. i have a tcase collecting dust. and 3 spare front drive shafts and a 4'' 1480 jointed steel driveshaft with slip yoke collecting dust too.

i hit up auto trader and just searched 01-04 GM diesels under 8k, there was 18 hits most for around 6grand. with a couple 4wds too.
