I was cooking down the road, passing some cars. Transmission slammed into 3rd gear and the check engine light came on. It gave me a P0700 code, how do I fix that?

Build it :D or take it easy on the 4-5 shift and 5-4 shift. fill out your signature with your truck and what's done to it. You limped the trans btw

Some times in the morning when it's cold out the p0700 code will pop up when I start the truck.

Bawhahaha, welcome to the club. If your getting a p0700 that's a generic code for the trans being pissed. Limp can be reset with a few ignition cycles. If you get it often save some coin, trans build will cost 3-4 grand depending on what you use. Parts can be had cheaper if you can build it yourself.

I don't understand how this is happening to people. I have run some very large tunes McRat's race tune being the biggest, with a completely stock allison 6 speed and only limped one time. But then again I lift for the higher shifts let it shirt and roll back into it.

5 speeds won't hold as much as the 6 speeds in stock form. I know of few guys with 6 speeds that ran a lot of power through them stock and never limped. When tore down the clutches were junk and steels warped but never limped.

Didn't Maxdout run with stock tranny racing with hard tuning? Seems like I read a long thread about Rob? and ? doing that as they were amazed how much it did take. I think they built it though later. 6 spd. must hold good for it's torture time Power just takes it apart with time. Guess that's why Mike and others who build em' up then keep it tickin'.
