Haven't updated in a while but driver's side rust repair is done as well as the cab corner on passenger side. I still need to finish the floor on the passenger side and replace the rocker. I didn't find any rust on the rocker until I pulled the weather stripping off so may as well replace the whole thing.

Looks good! My dad and brother did the same thing with a 71 and a 96 4x4 cummins :) we’re not smart enough for all that Duramax wiring :spit: We had to do electric fans and do a lot of figuring to fit the front core. The rest was pretty straight forward..:coolspot:

That would be a cool project too. Dad has an 89 Cummins 4x4 that we plan on dropping a 40s international cab on top and putting an 11 foot flat bed on for a service truck on the farm

Where it sits at the moment. Front half of frame is coated in rust barrier under coating. Axle and radius arms were painted with implement rust stop enamel primer and paint. Axle hubs redrilled to 8x6.5 pattern.

Oh man.

This escalated quickly suspension wise. Lol

Can’t wait to see it all done
Control arm mounts were twisted and enough other components in the front end were broken that it wasn't too much more to just do the sas.

Also engine got a welded water pump, new front main seal, new upper oil pan(front dif was pushed up into it), lml driver side manifold, new passenger side up pipe, power steering pump, thermostats, and I think I'm going to get new idler and tensioner pulleys.

Sorry to see your starting pic. I recently did something similar to my 02 ccsb lb7. Since I'm looking at putting another body on my truck at the least this conversion has also been on my mind. I have a 70 k20 but I'm not keen on a body lift or the wimpy frame with a 1000 lbs of torque. It looks like it fits pretty well.

How much did you chop out of the middle?

And what are you doing for a heater?

It was 26-27 inches I cut. Going to use a vintage air kit for ac and heat.

Haven't updated here lately. Made some progress tho.

Finished the drip rail and filled the seam on the cab roof

Finished up the body work on the cab and doors

As it sits now. I have the front cab mounts done, rear cab mounts are marked out and just need to be cut in and then welded when the lift is available again. Doors are essentially ready for primer. And I've started working on the box

And made a new video update
