Caltracs are the way to go:thumb: But you^^ sir are brave as hell only running sleeves.

cough cough PPE Centerlink cough cough

Cal tracs arent necessarily for all people. I know a lot who use regular old sled-pulling type traction bars.
I think what we're all shooting for in the end is a sort of ladder-bar suspension.

I might throw stock wheels on the truck this weekend and try again. I think maybe the big offset on my 20s are pulling the front end around a bit. Not sure if anyone can see it in the video but it squats pretty hard and that's when the front wheels start to toe in and out

Sorry to the OP I'm not trying to jack your thread. Just gathering information to help us both hopefully.

Wide wheels up front cause the three wheel motion dance off the line. I'd start with a smaller offset for sure. It's like the dance from it causes the front end to lift which shifts the motion to the rear causing the rear to squat.

In slow mo you can see the truck squat quite a bit in the rear which takes the weight off the front and that's when it starts to go haywire. From there on its shot it also starts to rock back and forth from side to side. I'm trying stock tires tonight we'll see how that goes.

smkndmax05 would you say that you running a Duraflight contributes a lot towards your 1.4+ 60+ times due to the gearing in 1st gear versus the Allison 1st gear ? There may be a Duraflight in my near future . Depends on cost verses gains .

I think his 1.4 60' has to do with every contributing factor come together. I.e. Slicks, trans, suspension ect. He has a wicked setup going that works.

Im jelly so what

Reason I brought that up is I have heard that just swapping trans can improve 60' considerably as well as take 2-3 tents off your 1/4 mile times as well . 60' due to staying in 1st longer all the way thru the whole 60' because of the numerically lower gear in 1st versus allison's 3 + 1st gear ratio . The 1/4 mile ETs are also improved due to the better 60' plus the Duraflight shifts gears quicker as well . My best 60' has been 1.66 on a decently prepped track on drag radials although I did have blown head gaskets . And it was not with everything currently listed on my Sig. I did have 4 coil overs and ladder bars though along with the wheels and tires in my Sig . Is anybody pulling 1.4s 60' on an Allison ?

Should be a vast improvement

Yea , I've read a lot on here about 2nd gear start and from what I gather it's not good on the tranny and those that did it had minimal improvement on their 60' . In my mind it's not worth trashing my tranny and or Convertor . I'll save some $$$ then sell what I have and go to a Duraflight .

Converter takes the worst of it. But also lets you stage a little harder.

Buddy used the cut 1.4x with an Allison in am ECSB LBZ on 30x14, QA1's, CalTracs, and lowered. Last time I was out had a 1.51 on 30x14's in my CCSB
