That's what I'm seeing too. There are tons of Duramax's in the 12s on stock turbo and fuel only, the only Fords that make it there are on spray or stripped down shop sponsored trucks - it's definitely not the norm like it is around here.

I agree. Both that the Ford 6.4 is a force worthy of serious consideration, and that the Dmax is currently the king of the diesel pickups at the strip.

At a normal test-n-tune day when diesel pickups show up, it's the Dmax that is the most feared, even by the gas guys. Even with nothing but a handheld tuner, they run about as quick as a GT Mustang, but 12 second and quicker trucks are the norm at the track. When it's a diesel-only event, the average ET of a Dmax that shows is lower than the other brands by a wide margin.

the new LML dmax better be something fierce, otherwise its back to third place for the dmax guys.

cummins is getting efilive support

the ford 6.4 is certainly proving to be a runner

the new ford 6.7, while complicated, I think once the aftermarket figures it out will be a monster. It is getting a Bosch fuel injection system (not siemens like the 6.4) so who knows, EFILive might even support it too if it uses the same EDC-16 controller as the LBZ/LMM.

What left does the duramax have over the other two? Nothing really..

I am not so scared of the Cummins so much, but if GM doesn't pull their head out of their ass, I will strongly be considering a new 6.7 Ford.

GM needs to take the next step and go to ultra high injection pressure. 100k+ psi (CP3 feeding a unit injector) before we will see another step like the 6.5 to the 6.6

Ford, as a company, is the top of the big three in my book at the moment for NOT needing gov't "bailout" to continue on and even improve as they have. Kudos to them for that!! :thumb:

I'm a loyal GM fan but I'm just about tired of GM (and Dodge) sticking their hand out for more allowance. So, if they are getting help AND STILL aren't making as good of a product as the competition that's NOT receiving gov't help, then I might seek other makes of transportation when the time comes to buy something else. :(

Just dissappointed in GM as a company at the moment. I still absolutely LOVE and prefer my [increasingly problematic] DMax and would love nothing more than to buy an LMM truck in spite of the company's down falls. Won't give up on them just yet but they are sure trying my patients and loyalty.

Great! Design it up/prototype it, and forward it to the dmax R&D team. Im sure they would love to hear all of your ideas on how to make the dmax better.
