Hit 50,000 miles today in my UPS truck, took 48 weeks to get there. Not too bad for ~200 miles a day...:D
Only issues so far have been when the EGR motor/system broke, which flooded the exhaust with soot, causing 3 regens in 3 weeks (normal is every 3000 miles or so). Truck was down for two weeks for that.
Only other thing is how fast this truck burns off rear tires. Im on my third set this year. Better that than having a truck break down all the time like my previous one (Workhorse chassis) did.
Otherwise the 6.7 Cummins/6spd Allison has been flawless, and the truck is still solid. Runs like a SOB, and is relatively quiet, esp on the freeway. I can hear myself think in this vehicle.

hey not too bad fuel mileage either for that large of a truck. :D

10,800lbs last time I had it weighed at the grain elevator with about 1/2 load. Ive been happy with it, thats for sure....

"Had" is the operative term there. That Workhorse truck went through 5 radiators in 6 months!!! The radiator/core support was used by Workhorse as a structural crossmember, and my rural roads were exceptionally hard on that piss-poor design. District Auto manager finally said, "Enough is enough...get that truck off Bacon's route." So I got one of the new Freightliners last year....and this truck kicks ass. Quiet, smooth, accelerates quickly, and rides like a Caddy on dirt roads. Loving it!

WE just got one of these added to are fleet this week it is a nice running truck. I got to be the first guy to drive it since my 7.3 powerstoker will not start and has not started in 2 weeks. Mechanic said it ran when He parked it there but know it won't start. He said He can spray starting fluid in it and it will run till it is gone. So He said I think it is electrical. Some other driver saw that I was driving that and decided He needed it worse than I did and had them switch the truck off my route and give Me his P.O.s 800 .

Tell hiim to do a check on the High Pressure oil pump...thats what fires the injectors. Its probably worn out. My old '97 did that...it first began starting hard, then stopped altogether.

Oh man...and old P800 in the country? Ugh. You ever drive one of the old military-chassis P600s way back when? Now THOSE were hard-driving trucks.

I tried to tell him, but He is a new young Guy they just hired and He thinks He knows it all and is going to set the world on fire. For like a month before this I would get in the truck and it would not start right up, you would have to crank it for awhile then stop and crank it again and do this for a short period of time then it would start. Just like it was trying to build the oil pressure up or something. I did ask the pre-load sup to get that 800 off my route. I'm a short guy 5"6" and that first step getting in is over my knee, and talk about a rough ride

Yep...HPOP issue. After a while you just say, "To hell with this" and keep it running when you can....been there, done it.

Amen on the step height. Thank God I made it through those old trucks when I was younger...I couldnt handle that step height all the time now. Just remember to use "Three points of contact". (sorry..old Safety Committee joke)
