I'd have it of it was my choice. But the guys property that's its on is locked up cause he had to go out of town for a funeral. So I can't get it till he's back. I need to find a trailer to get it home with

Well I got the truck. Got the motor out and on the stand. Once I pulled the heads I found 2 cylinders that look like someone took a chisel to them. So they will be getting re sleeved and the block is gonna get decked down a bit.

Goin to need 530-550hp to get 450 at the wheels. Sucks that the motor was junk. Like said before tho, buy srp or je pistons. Same pretty much. I personally never cared for the kb pistons. Good luck and keep us updated.

Ok, got the motor torn all the way down. Every bearing was ruined. Whoever assembled the bottom end must have dumped a few pounds of sand on everything before assembly. Decided I'm gonna have the whole block bored .090 over and put some new forged JE pistons in it. Gonna try to post some pics up later

I'm gonna be gone for a week but as soon as I get back home I get to pick my block and everything up. I'll post some pics of the motor after its assembled and I'll try to get a couple pics of my heads while I'm porting them.

Yes, if you can get true 93 then mix it half and half with 87, it actually comes out higher, do not know how but it does, we have to do this on our el camino with an olds 403. if we run 91-93 or 87 it pings, if we mix it 50/50 then no ping.

If you mix 93 octane and 87 octane you get 89 octane. No one truly blends an 89 octane any longer so when you select 89 at the pump it blends regular and super as it comes out. Any time you mix a higher rated octane fuel with a lower rated octane fuel, It will lower the overall octane.
