Give george (big dipper) a call and see what he says. He helped me out a ton on questions I had and what I should run with my mpi kit. I will be ordering a set from him in the next few weeks.

George is not a tuner I would take his advice with a grain of salt.

He's not a tuner but deals with injectors everyday. He told me a lot about them, flow rates, balance, and pw and so on. It was just an idea. Otherwise I have bobo tune my truck and he would help I'm sure. He's a top tuner for a reason and would give a few pointers. Good luck.

In my humble opinion ( No offense #1 ;) ) I don't think there's a magic number for mileage, just like there's not one for power. If u get 18+ mpg with tires 40% taller than factor then I think you're flying.... :D

George does not hone injectors out in his... They are simply extrude honed nothing special. FYI

I know. Which is why I said maybe george could possibly help. Being he deals with the exact same tips on a regular basis. I think he even had them on his personal truck. Anyway was just an idea. Also a good point wdino73.

Talk to someone who truly understands how a common rail injector works/functions and the effect that larger nozzles have on them and you might be surprised what you would learn.:thumb:

In order to be able to tune something properly, you must must first understand how it works.;)

Lowering pulse width down in the cruising range does nothing as it will simply take more TP% to cruise or accelerate at the same rate as before. Raising rail pressure only helps in some cases because its compensating for other errors in the tune.......

Hope I don't get banned for posting this...

Also remember that adding fuel pressure increases injected fuel amount. Not as important on race tuning, but when you want to squeeze your system for efficiency it is important to make sure you are not over fueling.

You want your boost near zero at cruising speed. Boost gauge is a reverse mileage guage.

Well I currently run stock pw up till wot, the rail is up 5% across the map currently iirc and timing in the cruise range is 6-7* an it sits at 31-37mm cruising at 75 MPH bumping the timing from 3-4* to 6-7* helped the most but I also get to much of either a timing rattle or a fuel rattle now. Sigh....what affects would pilot timing have on fuel or timing rattle with larger injectors I've played with pilot pulse an timing both not sure I e'er here or see a MPG difference when changing these.

I guess I'm fighting couple different issues but I want MPG then want to try an get rid of this rattle I have sorry to ramble also boost runs around 4-5psi on the freeway no matter what lol thing is wound up
