Its unlikely that you will get the mileage youre searching for at that speed with your setup, IMO. It sucks, but its true, duramax mileage falls off sharp after 1900 RPM.

WOW ya at 80 mine is around 2100-2150 rpm. really no one has any tips to try or anything to share? ive gotten a lil better avg 16 but could use more

also any input on the pilot timing and pusle??

I am not trying to be an asshole, with that said you tune trucks for profit so a lot of guys are going to be very reluctant to share their discoveries with you.

We'll I haven't had troubles with others just mine and I understand what your saying just trying to get more of a feel I've had a set of 100% overs that were cake to.tune mine is just a pita an I think more and more its just the nozzles themselves so just trying to make sure its doing what I think its doing with pilot pulse and timing

More pressure, less pulse, and lots of timing. Plus, less lift, lighter narrower tires and lighter wheels will make more of a difference than you might think. :thumb:

No one said to put dinky tires on, lol! Just lighter narrower ones. Mine dropped from low 20's to high teens by simply changing from 245's to 285's. Nothing else changed. Just something to think about man.

I have 315's on my truck, and I get 16-17 MPG mixed city/highway. I'm lucky to see 13 in town. Your tires are a bit narrower than mine, so you should be able to do at least that, even with the big sticks. I don't know how the heck you got 22 before. Want to share that for those of us with stock sticks?!?

So far in my tuning I've found the most effective thing is adding timing. Your timing sounds close to what I have, but with big sticks you may need a hair more. I have 6 degrees at 1600 RPM, and 8 degrees at 2200 RPM. 6 degrees @ 1600 just gives me a hint of timing rattle, but the 8 degrees @ 2200 is smooth and quiet.

The trick to killing off the rattle was to adjust the pilot injection timing. I added a couple degrees to the pilot timing table, which got rid of most of it. Still a little more tweaking needed. With larger sticks, you'll probably have to play around for a while. You may actually need to subtract pilot timing, I don't know.

I know this is with stock injectors, but hopefully this helps some.

George is not a tuner I would take his advice with a grain of salt.

How do you know what I do and don't do?

I can tell you this, I am the guy a guy like you brings his truck to when it needs fixed properly.....that's what seperates me and you. You read stuff....I do stuff.

When are you gonna grow up......step out of Mike's shadow and stop believeing everything someone who doesn't know much tells you.
