4094 is the small turbo on my compound kit the big one is a 5533. It spools quick, a ton of fun to drive and I've had great performance from it for 4 years. You can drive the truck across country, race it like I did last year at Brainerd and Edmonton and drive it back. Love the setup, mine was made by Nathan at MPI>

Just to clarify coco puff said the 4094avnt retains a t3 footprint no it does not its a solid housing straight to the up pipe no flange that's t3. The 4094 has a t3 flange that needs a install kit to work.

Unless you meant it flows like a t3 footprint but it doesn't I dont believe as vvts run hotter and have lots of drive compared to similar sized fixed vain turbos.

id run a fixed vain imo they spool just a good with tuning

Will it function okay on stock fueling and 5" exhaust? I'm asking because on their website it states "It is not ment for a stock replacement as fuel and intake/exhaust upgrades need to be done for this turbocharger to work in it's efficiency range!" What intake/exhausts upgrades are they referring to exactly?

Rob should be able to get her spooling fine with stock fuel.

After running mine on stock fuel and then upgrading to 30% injectors...I don't think I would ever run one on stock fuel again. If your not upgrading injectors, just get the regular 4094vvt.

4094 will clean up all the fuel stock injectors can throw at it.

I gained .03 in the quarter mile switching from a 4094 to the 72mm on the exact same tune. Goes to show that giving more air than is needed doesn't benefit you...at least in this application.

Now if your planning on getting bigger injectors, then I would def go 72mm. My little 30% injectors are night and day difference with that turbo.

Oh great! I've been looking into the 72mm and now I'm debating again. FML!!! I may go bigger injectors at some point...hmmm

Imho, you should ditch the egr and install some new uppipes if you can afford it, you already have a downpipe so your good there, you could get it all done at once. But money can be a factor, I no about that.

Not to hijack woodster's thread but does anyone have any info on Garrett's 3794? I know it's just a shade larger than stock. I had considered the 4094 but I didn't think it would work well towing our camper.

Do you have to remove the engine to install up pipes?

I pulled Rattletrap (JEEP) to York PA this weekend, 10200lbs with a suspect CP3. It likes to run around 2500rpm most efficient from 2100-2800RPM.
