You doing a double triangulated, triangulated upper/parallel lower, or four parallel and a panhard bar?

Parallel with Pan Hard bar .

The only funky thing will be the shocks , I was able to get a hold of a set of fox Nitragen filled air shocks we are trying out , if they dont work i will order some coil overs , I am getting them from a freind for a very cheap price , max PSI is 500

Is there any particular reason you aren't building your own links?

I dont have a Tig and would want them welded with one , and its pretty conveinent for the price and the time it will save . I can have all 4 bars with a pan hard bar with pre-fabbed mounts to my door next week for 450 then build 4 brackets and burn it to the truck , just seemed like it was worth the price to me . If i wasnt in a hurry to get the truck finished ( to a certain point ) i would have probably built them myself .

what links are you using Trent? also, couldnt you use your air bags with your current shocks instead of the fox shocks?
whats the fox shox part #?

i was going to do this but realized i couldn't pull without OEM suspension design...so maybe one day in a racer....

Yes i could use an air bag but I dont feel an airbag would be a good choice for the spring on a strip vehicle, the nitrogen shocks are a different animal , I doubt they will stay on it but should work for a while . I dont have a part # they are used I will post up some pics , for a D/D i would def have considered or even used air bags .

Please don't do a pan hard rod. ;)

How about a diagonal link or a wishbone?

I will give you a call today to discuss options and down falls , i didnt know of any with the pan hard bar setups other than some side to side axel movent with the travel of the "arc "

I know the 4 link helps puts the weight to rear wheels so you can get the best take off without blowing off the tires but is it worth the trouble if you was going to build your first set of traction bars here soon would you go with the standard straight traction bar or go with some kind of 4 link setup

lookin good trent:thumb:.

did you contact Suicide Doors about doing the bars? they are usually pretty inexpensive. i have their bars on mine and have never had an issue. they are 1.5" dia and 1.25" wall.

what are the plans for the inside of the bed.

I wouldnt go throught the trouble of a 4 link unless you are after very fast track time and way sub standard 60 fts . It is a ton of work , i guess it will come down to how good it works , and what the gain per dollar is , and what the down falls are if any .

1.25 wall ? mean .125 wall ? the ones i am looking at are .250 wall .

blank , just some aluminum playe to mount the fuel cell , water to air junk ect . Soft tunnue cover maybe to hide the clutter .

why not just do a watts link?

More fabrication , or more expensive to have built , Both Rick and Myself feel a pan hard will work for me because i am not narrowing the frame and will have along enough bar that it should matter much . I am sticking with a traditional Parallel 4-link because every tunning / calculating software is base off it( rendering them usless if you stray too much ) i am familiar with the design , it fits the chassis and space i have , and the function for the intended use is there , you guys can build them any way you want , there a bazillion ways it can be done .

Some times simple is the best way to go for round one , it gets easy to get alot of idea's ( i have them too ) and if i was building a D/D , street rod , or sled puller each might need a different setup than i am building and I would probably due a few things different, but this is Drag race only design and use with enough adjustment to hopefully sled pull too , we will see what the down falls are for D/D and for other uses for those interested in them for there projects. once we can test it will be easy to specilize the design .

:banghead:ahh i meant 1/4" wall.

should look good w/ the bed open too.

yea i guess just going straight at a set height you really don't have to worry about the axle moving left to right. a long bar and nice stout mount on the axle should do her right.

what are you doing for the front link mounts? you going on the inside of the rails?

Ya inside of the rails for the bars ,I will use a cross member with some long channel type mounts for lots of adjustment up and down for top and bottom bars . The channel will need to be 16"-20" with 8-16 holes 1 or 2" apart . The parts will need to be beefy to handle the size of that bracket and the torque being made but i have a good design in mind :D ,

The shocks are going on the outside of the rails on the back side of the axle for superior control of side to side "pitch" or "roll" . :coolspot:

But you'll have to race the 2wd Pro-Street truck next year.
4800lbs........................check
1.5 60'.........................check
1300-1400hp on fuel.......check
Bottles are for baby's......check
always have a ride home..check

There will be no playing around with this truck if we want to compete all over the country next year. It's going to have Jumbo turbo's, 3cp3's, a water to air IC, and lots of other cool secret squirrel stuff built in-house. We'll try to get kicked off the track with a 8.5 sec. roll cage :D. Crap that also means I have to get a new NHRA license:(:happy2:
