My friend tylerrustlb7 put his 14.50 wide on stock take off rims an they work badass...anymore questions I will be glad to answer

uh just 2 more quick questions if ya dont mind...1 approximately how many passes can one realistically get out of a set of decent slicks? and 2 how can you tell when they are worn down and need replacing if they are all smooth? thanks..

Don't know the exact amount but a lot... They have wear pockets.

gotcha...thanks kat i just dont wanna get a set then need new ones in a few weeks...i like to do mean burnouts before i stage up lol..

so would a wear pocket be like a little hole you can measure the depth of? i apologize for my ignorance on the subject.

Well we don't do burnout's with them. So I can't help you there.

Exactly...

all you need to do is heat them up and get a little smoke rolling off of them and thats all...

Well that is debatable also:D

We run ET Streets on the corvette. I can't do the 3 ft shuffle so I don't do a burnout. Pat does a big a$$ burnout because he thinks it's fun.. Who do you think cuts better 60ft times?

Me most times :hello:

I never burned out for more than ten seconds... Tyler did a big a$$ burnout an saw no changes.. His 60 was a littler slower due to suspension issues..

You guys need to get ahold of Brandon Meyers (BMDMAX) from the DP. He knows his stuff about racing a 2wd Dmax. Hes run 12.20s on fuel only, 11.90s on N20.

are you saying we dont know what we're doing?

No, but he would be another good source for info on what he did to hook his truck at the track. Going back and reading, he was netting 1.7-1.8 60ft times in 2006 on slicks, caltracs and stock shocks, so he must be doing something right. Any info is helpful, right?

with my street tires you can forget about hooking if you dont do a burnout...however i have found long ones dont help at all either...well besides putting a smile on my face lol

i usually powerbrake just till they start spinning then get off the brake and let em roast to the line...make a total of 5 seconds? that seemed to work best for me...but then again slicks is probably a whole different story

Wow, this took off over the weekend.

I run 30/14.0 M&H slicks I paid about $200 each and tubes were another $70 each, used rims for $150 a pair , 60' times 2.0,2.1. Cant break into the 1.x yet, 6000ft above sea level.

I do a small burnout to knock the rocks off the slicks and get some heat in the compound, I have a starting line video I will try to post.

I plan to move the fuel tank and Batt to the rear of the truck behind the rearend to help with transfer.

Has anyone built a drive shaft loop? I would like to build one for my own peace of mind, not required at Bandimere yet.
