Yup. Been saying that for some time. If tomorrow, everyone in the country traded their ICE vehicles in for EVs then went home and plugged them in, the grid would implode.

So let me get this right we need direct injection to reduce carbon dioxide, but it increases nox and particulates. So now we need particular filters on gassers..... F***me
One possible solution, ignoring the environmental impact of mining the raw materials, is having solar on peoples own roof that charges a powerwall for either carrying through the peak period or using it for EV charging. Many already have this so it is a viable option. Even if very expensive
A long term solution is nuclear.
