I know exactly who but cant exactly say. Its a sizable upgrade from the garretts though.

That's about the only option besides Holset. I hope its not holset, I don't like their variable nozzle design

This is back from 2013 but...
Defiance Plant Makes 2017 DMax Beta Blocks
Defiance Plant 1 recently produced the first block castings for the next generation of Duramax engines. These iron block castings will be machined at the GM Powertrain Engineering Headquarters in Pontiac and be used for the 2017 MY Beta test engines. Many thanks to the Defiance folks that helped make these blocks in the core room, foundry and finishing as well as maintenance and the pattern shop. It is important that our plant be involved right from the start with the development of the next great Duramax engine.

Wtf is taking them so long?
I thought they could no longer produce LML's due to the new emissions that went into effect January 1st 2016? How is remaining stock going to hold out until this fall?
They better at least tease some stuff before the Texas State Fair...that isnt until October... If they become available to order on August 18th, how do they expect to sell any before they've even released them to the public?
Still working out issues I'm guessing or making sure issue free. or decided to change something.
YES LML's could no longer be built after the 1st of the year. DMAX stock piled the engines because of this. They can sell them in 2016, just can't build them.
Yes unless they delay them again. Because if they run out of LML's the they would have no choice to build the new Duramax's or other wise they would have nothing on lots. But they could always build the GAS HD's starting in September. Just because they start taking orders in August don't mean they are going to start building them right then in there. Line start up is in September. Which sounds about right because starting new Truck will be slow and will give them a few weeks to work out issues with build. Then Texas state fair starts at the end of September.
