Like a 12.99, 400HP is 100HP more than 399HP. :D I'd like to see them hit the magic 400.

One handicap GM has, is that they rate their engines under the new SAE spec which yields lower numbers. Which is why advertised HP is a crock of shinola ...

Maybe they should lowball the hell out of the trucks like the muscle cars of the 60's and 70's in the sake of insurance rates. Would make the first dyno pulls of a new model interesting!

You of all people should know this is true.

I guess its something that GM can say. That they were the first to break 400. You know, the usual pissing contest.

do all manufacturers use the new SAE#'s??? if so then its a even standard if not the its hard to make any comparisons
kinda reminds me of tire wear ratings not all equal with all brands

Yes, Edmunds has been wrong before, but they have a good batting average and inside info.

Trying to find out what the first day to order is.

Do I sense a new tow rig for the McSwains in the future?

Not yet, I don't think, but I think everyone will be going to that standard before too long.

I plan on checking one out when they arrive.

The fuel mileage stat seems too good to be true. HP wise, we are jaded, think about how fast 100+hp was when the first LB7 tuners came out. I'm mostly interested to see if the new turbo is much bigger or has the capacity to put out 600ish.

I was told yesterday by a guy that ford is coming out with their own ford made diesel engine that is supposed to be making like 600hp, has anyone else heard this? I've looked online but can't find anything, i'd never own another ford, but i sure don't want one passing me either lol

well like i said, i was "told" by this guy, he's not necissarilly the brightest but his dmax is freakin sweet, which is why it peaked my curiosity when he told me this because he was thinking about trading for a new ford and he's a die hard chevy man

I hope it has the 650 675 on it. Otherwise I doubt it will compete with the 6.7 Ford.
