Whelp! Motor is finally done, its slow today, I'm bored, so starting one of these little threads since honestly I find them fun to read and to pass some time and hopefully keep some peeps up to date from when its running to when I scatter it and start over again LOL! Long story short bought this truck MANY years ago and went from lifted and stock to lowered and 60s, 467.7, 2x CP3s, built trans and stock motor and was extremely enjoyable for many moons. Sold the truck when I learned I had a kid on the way to free up funds and make sure we were in a better position. Kid comes and a year later the person who bought it absolutely murdered the trans ( valve body junk, clutches gone, etc ) so bought it back for pennys on the dollar for what I sold it for in plans to put a trans in it again and drive it for fun on weekends etc.... That was a mistake. Year and a half later im here.... Build now consists of:

Motor: Built By Baird Racing out of Idaho Falls, ID.
- .020 Over bore
- Half Filled Block
- O ringed Block
- Mahle Forged Piston
- Carrillo Rods
- Callies Crank
- Dowled Main Caps and Girdle
- Wagler Pinned and Shimmed Oil Pump
- Hamilton 199-207 Cam ( Ended up trading the 196-202 for it )
- ATI Damper/ Billet Flex Plate w/ ARP bolts
- Main Studs
- ARP625 Head Studs
- Port/Polish on Heads
- Wagler Springs and Retainers
- Manton Valve Bridges, Push Rods, Billet Rocker Shafts
- ARP Rocker Bolts

Air:
-Forced Inductions GT55 107mm Low Pressure
-GTX4508r High Pressure

Fuel:
-Flux Diesel Injectors ( Not done but with Don currently, from a small talk were thinking 300s Range )
-ii XP 12mm CP3 with 9mm plunger ( Old style 8.5 plunger I have taken to 1200-1300+ on multiple trucks with plenty of pump left without issues. So should be fine as a single for my goals with the new style 9mm plunger or else ill just add another 10 or 12 over it. Shall see! )
-Fass290 with Fass Regulator

Trans:
-Built by Paul over at Interstate Diesel
-AR Goerend Converter
-Billet Input/output/p2 and c2 etc.

Overall I now have a useless truck with more money than I wanted to spend due to having no self control. :ROFLMAO:

I love build threads :).

I can't wait to see this thing complete and out tearing up the track/streets! What's your planned goals with it, a hot street truck or are you planning to do like KOS/Gauntlet/UCC?

The plan is to actually have a running truck for the season for the first time in about 3-4 years. Hopefully make it to Vegas and Idaho to get it on the 10.99 list and 6.699 list and If all goes well double the HP the last time it was on the dyno ( 756hp if I recall in 2017 or 18 for this truck ). Would love to do KOS but that's a week worth of time after you account travel and event minimal and cant be away from the computer that long LOL. UCC is big dick energy. Unfortunately my wallet only allows small dick energy events. So will probably follow the NWDC this year and do some dyno racing and then hit the track to get the truck onto the lists and call it a day. We will see where it goes. But wont be anything special. Still has full interior, tons of stereo shit ( subs, 2 amps, cross overs, and full console w/ leather and so on ), AC, Heater, weighing in at a metric fuck ton and no plans of a diet ever. Ill swap the setup in to a new chassis before I cut up this truck.

I remember this truck. Dakota Novak was wanting to buy it. He sent me all the pics of it when you were shaving the handles and stuff. I actually bought the floor mats he bought for this truck before he went another direction. Easily my #1 favorite build ever.

Small dick energy events Thats sig worthy right there. Sounds like its going to have above average dick energy when its done and be pretty nasty. Cant wait to see it run.
I knew you would chime in when you read that Nic.

Yeah that was a shit show in its self. Long story short got royal fooked over by the guy who was doing most of the paint and body back then so he passed on the truck back then since it was taking forever ( dont blame him ). Appreciate you appreciating the build though!

I believe he is talking about the tailgate handle and bed rail caps and fuel door that was shaved. Ill grab some pics of those to throw on here in 2 seconds. After motor is in and truck is running plan is to get it back to paint and shave the 3rd brake light this year and fix some spots on the bed the previous guy fucked up 10 ways to Sunday.

This has been sooooo long ago I don’t even have them anymore. All I know is I had to change my pants after every picture he sent 😂the truck is 100% a dream truck of mine. Pretty sure the tailgate and gas door has been shaved but door handles are still there.

Here is some pics of the paint and body I can readily get too ( more on my laptop at home ). 01 front clip swap, Fender flare indents were shaved, Bed rail caps shaved, fuel door shaved and harley cap added to use for fill neck, seamless roll pan, Shaved tail gate all around and handle flipped to inside of gate like normal and a few more small things. Overall was fun and good ideas just a bad deal on the person I was involved with back then doing it. Will be MUCH better once its running and I can get it over to Damon Hart to shave the 3rd brake light, color match front bumper ( last color match bumper I had was stolen by the same dude who painted the truck LOL) and fix all the minor things that drive me absolutely bonkers.

Also a pic attached of how it currently sits with no drive train and completely neglected for the past 15 months lol.

Also cant post a video it seems so cant really show the Harley cap works. But its a lock style flush cap so you press it down and it locks in that position and press again and pops up and you are able to twist it out from there so it sits flush with bed rail when twisted on.

God I love 01/02 trucks (which you and I have spent countless times on the phone about lol). I can't wait till this is done!!!!

Now I just gotta find you when you travel this way to put your ass in the seats of my trucks..........

Whenever you get a moment and if you wouldn’t mind, could you post up what it takes for the 01-02 front end swap on my old thread? I’ll link it below. I got a few varying answers but since you’ve done it it would be great info for the few people that wonder like me.

Should be one hell of a runner! Now you just have to get it done in all your spare time....................

Tell Zach you're carrying a child and need paternity leave, that should work :)

What’s this spare time you speak of? Sounds nice....

In reality once I have some injectors it’s game on. Last things I’m waiting on. Have some S&S 350s worst case I can use for the season.
