Thanks Russell.

Good thing I didn't have to sell the truck. Can't wait to get it going.

Only diesels I've been driving lately are the salt trucks at work. They just don't compare though.

Started tearing in the motor today to do head studs, up pipes, lbz cp3, 4094 with s480 hsp twin kit and building my trans.

I'm hoping to have it done and running by Tuesday night.

I'm 5 hrs in and feel like I haven't even made a dent in it.

Look's like it needs a bath Ken, haha :D

Yeah she's a little dirty :D

It's been sitting outside since January and hasn't moved. Once I get the rest of it torn down ill probably scrub the engine bay and clean it up.

Too bad were so far apart. Love me a good wrenching session.

Yeah I'm doing it all myself. I'll have someone help me pull the trans but besides that it's a one man show.

Got one head off and working in the other. So far no signs if the bad headgasket. I have a suspicion it's on the driver side. When I removed 2 of the injector hold down bolts on that side I could hear air escaping threw the threads. Which doesn't seem right. I'll find out shortly.

Well after 4 days of work and pulling an all nighter I finally got her running.

Head gaskets were bad so I tore it down. Put studs in it, SoCal stg 1 heads, lbz pump, hsp up pipes & hsp twin kit with 4094/480.

Tunes are ordered threw Danville. Just got to finish building the spare trans and put it in before I can drive it.

Ordered some hsp traction bars also that will be put on once it's driveable.

It's time for a nap now.

Looks very good Ken :thumb:

I gave my pickup so TLC on Sunday. Removed the 4x4 stickers, 3500 emblems, and install the tap shift. It looks much better with those things removed. It's no shiny parts like you're doing but I don't have much time with an 8 month old and starting my own business, haha.

Keep the pictures coming and let hear how it sounds. :thumb::thumb:

I still have my tap shifter from my old truck that needs to be installed along with a bt lockup box.

It needs to be cleaned badly. I bought the truck in November and only put around 1000 mi on it before the head gaskets and trans went out 2 weeks apart. It been sitting since January. I can't wait to be able to drive it again and not my rusted out s10 :roflmao:

Pretty much got the engine bay done. Just need to do some cleaning.

Just need to build my trans and get my tunes put on it and she's ready to go.

It's been a while since I've updated. I've been making slow progress but it's almost done. Got the trans in it 2 weeks ago. Shifts like a dream. I am getting an intermittent lock up in 4th gear though. I'll hook up a scanner this weekend and check out it.

Got the engine cleaned up and installed all my gauges. Tapshifter was also installed. My tunes from Danville were put on the other day. Even without a lift pump and in my street tune this sucker flies. Still haven't got on it fully. Lift pump will be put on tomorrow and I'll be stopping by HSP in the morning to get my traction bars put on also.

Installed rancho 9000xl on all 4 corners. Once I get to the track I'll start dialing the suspension in.

It's a good feeling to finally get some seat time in with the truck. It's been down since January and I was started to get a little tired of driving the s10 around.

With the twins, FTE stack and muffler/resonator it's super quiet with almost no cab noise. That's exactly how I wanted it.

There's a dyno event next weekend near me. I should have it done by then and see what she puts down. Then off to the track to see what she can do.

Perfect combo.

Now I just need to figured out why it locks up in 4th gear sometimes while crusing. I think I might have got the wrong spring to eliminate the check ball in the trans valve. It was identical to the last 1 I got for my first trans build which never had a lock up problem. I'll get it on a scanner this weekend and see if it's the TCM commanding it on or if it was a problem with the install.
