That car looks great... I'm in Novato not 40 minutes from you. I'd love to come by and check it out in person

Very nice build!

One thing I would watch for is cracking at the welds of the roll cage joints. While they do look nice the method that you used (triggering or bump and run) does not always allow for a complete fusion due to a lack of heat applied. A solid bead with up and down oscillation is a much better option for roll cage joints. You get constant heat and an even bead all the way around.

Hopefully in your case you will be ok. If they do begin to crack it will not be in the middle of the weld but at the top or bottom of the bead where it will pull away from the tubing. Just be sure to check it from time to time.

Good luck with the rest of the build!

The welds will be fine. I didn't use the tack tack method. I stitch welded with crescent (half moon) patterns, and as soon as I release the trigger, I'm back on it, never allowing the weld to stop glowing. I have hood penetration which you can see by the discoloration of the tubing around the welds. I'm confident and feel safe with them.

If your ever in the Sebastopol/Santa rosa area, feel free to stop by western Autobody. That's where I work and keeping the car there for now.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

10's is possible with a stock LB7 and a tune ;)

How fast did ricks Chevelle go with the lb7? I've seen a few pics of the triples you guys are building for the lbz you dropped in it. You guys have had me thinking about building a set of twins for it all day...

He went 11.2 with a 480hp tune and lift pump @ 4400lbs. With 32/35mpg. Hand calc on the same tune. Shooting for 8's with the new setup. Plenty of fuel and air now, plus a Trans and diff that should hold the Tq lol.
