And to think I thought 150 was moving fairly decent in my VR4. Wouldn't even think about it in my duramax, tops was 110 by myself on open road.

In for the race results :thumb:

I just looked up, I was wrong, the 99-00 "transition year" GMT-800's supposedly have a steering column lock according to some people online, but Ive never personally seen a GMT-800 with a column lock unless it was a manual

My steering wheel locks.....

allison or ZF6?

If you have an allison, no it does not lock....you might think it does, but it doesnt. Ill bet you $25. If you can post a video of it truly locking, then Ill paypal you $25.

I cant even tell you how many people ive argued with that swore up and down their column locked, then I had them jack up the front (so you can turn the wheel with the engine off), turn the key off, take it out of the ignition, and turn the wheel. Then they get this dumbfounded confused look on their face when the wheel still turns freely in both directions. "huh!! I swear it used to lock!!!"

No it didnt!

everyone thinks their GMT-800 column locks because they either A) assume it does, because almost every other vehicle has a locking column, or B) thinks "it wont turn when the truck is off" (forgetting that the resistance they are feeling is simply the fact that there is no power steering with the engine off)

Like I said, manual trans trucks, yes. Automatic, SUPPOSEDLY 99-00 had it, but Ive seen (driven) plenty of 2000+ trucks that didnt have it. Ive never driven/seen a 99 so I cant say that "for sure".

Now what happens? The world ends?

Judging by your snippy responses, Im guessing you just went out to your truck 2 minutes ago and double checked it, found that it didnt actually lock, (surprise!!!) and now feel a bit silly...

Its ok to admit you're wrong. I admitted I was wrong a couple posts ago. (when I said none of the GMT-800 automatic trucks ever had it, even though SUPPOSEDLY some early 99-00 automatic trucks had it)

I specifically make it a point to drive at "75% my normal driving style/speed" when other people are in the truck, and 60% when girls are in the truck (I dunno, maybe I unconsciously feel more protective of them) just because I would feel awful if something happened, and because I know what its like to be in the passenger seat and question the drivers driving...

You know what the funny thing is, you're in such a hurry to correct everyone that you can't even decipher the difference between someone seriously contradicting you and someone who is phucking with you.
