I still am a firm believer a s366 is plenty for stock rods. 6-700hp range. They spool great and cost only 500 new. I did try a billet wheel. Seemed like it gave me more midrange and that's it.

I'd rather have a 464 or 466 if you wanted a s300..the shafts and internals are stronger and just a cheaper charger..you can detune to run a 472 and have a good base charger if you decide to build engine..there are other guys out there that take shelf BW chargers and put the same stuff in them as bigger companies or 1/2 the cost..

Yea for sure. I think a 468 would be awesome but agreed on price is like wowzer! But if I did one is research the hell out of it so as to get one cheaper

I remember when if someone would ask about a turbo, they got nailed with 20 posts about an s366 lol. Now it's an s472

For what it's worth, I went straight to the s472, stock injectors and cp3. It's badass. It would be even more badass if I had the proper torque converter.

Driving around town is no problem at all. How fast it spools all depends on the rpms you give it pre boost. If I had a lockup switch and the right TC I bet I could light this turbo instantly.

I don't even know what stall it is. Pretty sure it's a PPE TC. Cheap local build, invoice said billet triple disc. Pic and price matched up with the PPE unit.

What color? I think mike l said the yellow was a suncoast 1056 and the pink is a precision ml but don't quote me. I found it one day researching converters

If your doing a full build then the cost of going from a 66 to a 72 is nothing. So why not have a better reacting turbo tell then?

472 over anything else. Get the 87mm turbine and a 1.0 housing. Spend the extra money on the newer technology. The differnce between a regular billet 472 and a TCT 472 is night/day. I would say from personal experience that the TCT wheel is about 10x quicker to spool and drives exactly like the stock charger.

And to answer another question, I have my TCM tuned and it also makes a huge difference in how the truck drives. A good tcm tune can turn a laggy charger into something much more responsive just by raising shift points and wen the tcc locks.

Thanks for the info Chris. I enjoy hearing your input from personal experiences with all the mods you have done and different setups you've ran

I haven't ran that many, but I've been in quite a few modded dmaxs. I got to drive my cousins truck with a TCT 472, prob a hundred miles the other day. It has 100s/2xcp3 and it honestly shocked me. His charger makes 10 psi when mine would be barely moving the needle. No need to go above 30% throttle and it accelerates to 60 just like a stock truck, prob a little quicker. We also pulled around 7k a couple weeks ago through the mountains, it never missed a beat and egts didn't go above 1100 while ragging it up the hills.

That is some extremely good real world info. Guess I'll be hunting a tc 472 next go around and so fuelage to feed it
