Nope...............just your typical 'left-coaster' attitude toward southern-folk.

It's a small group of about a dozen shops and racers, by coincidence they are centered geographically in Kentucky.

Yeah, this is the same group that says Missouri on the West Coast. They have been demanding various rule changes every year. Even when they go out to California they demand "their" rules be followed.

They demand all competitors follow the rules, but their group itself is exempt:

  • Lose the regionals? Send "your guys" to the finals anyhow.
  • Most racers don't want 1/8th mile? Make up some story about the track saying it's not allowed.
  • Messed up starting ladder? Use the parts in it you like, and refuse the parts in it you don't like.
  • Don't like a legitimate entry running and making you look bad? Demand it not run.
  • Can't win Work Stock? Change it to 2.5 inducer and make a super hybrid charger and run a megabuck engine.
  • Don't like the "No Tow Rule?" Only enforce it against those who aren't your buddies.
  • Don't like the Street Legal and Licensed? Just ignore it.
  • etc, etc, etc.

Really, it not that significant in the grand scheme of things. We aren't inventing room temperature fusion or building Martian colonies. So it puzzles me why they act the way they do. Imagine how they react to something that's really critical.

TS will run their events anyway the see fit, and there is nothing wrong with that all by itself. Except that they try the same thing at ALL events they want to run at, not just their own. But for those who haven't built a 10 second or quicker diesel pickup, it's a lot of time spent away from your family, a lot of money that could be better spent elsewhere, and a real risk to your life to race it. When you put on a "national" event, it would be best if you treated ALL the racers with the respect you demand for yourself and your clique.

Crap like that can ruin a series FAST. Unfortunately it's not limited to the diesel crowd either. There are clowns that act like that in EVERY group of racers.

It does make everyone else ripe to be drawn in by a new series though! :D

I could have added much to that list, but it's still very true!
