All the success you had last yr with the torque flite & now it's as problematic as an Allison? That blows. Get one of those fancy trannys like your buddy Dennis has. :D

x2 not bad for a sled pulling truck!

Congrats ken!

Thanks, we were snake bit all day Sat. Truck would launch hard then totally defuel and shift then go like hell and hard defuel, down shift and go again. It was going 1.59 to 1.60 60's and through the traps at 12.2 and 113. Couldn't figure out what was going on. Finally Rob totally eliminated the DSP5 switch and did a reflash with a single tune and it ran. Only got the one pass, it was the last one as the event was over and they were gracious enough to let us have one more try. Appears there was cross talk between the switch and the operating system and was switching tunes on the fly. Lucky we didn't break something. All I have for a tranny in it right now is the old SC Stage 5 that was in it when I bought the truck originally over 2 years ago and I have loaned it out to use as as well. It actually worked pretty well for what it is. Lots of tuning to do yet, both engine, tranny and waste gates. The DA was brutal on everyone, tough to spool anything.

What happened to the transmission that was already in there? IIRC you had issues with the 1054?

That tranny has something wrong with it. over heats, locks up hangs shifts all sorts of problems. I'm beginning to think there is something warped that is allowing fluid to seep across voids into places it shouldn't be when under pressure. Not sure what is going on.

We ran into that problem with Ruben BLKLMM's truck too at Sacramento. Flashed a regular non dsp os in it and it ran.

I started playing golf when I was about 14 and loved it. Played on the high school team then when into the Navy and didn't play it again till 1986. Wife's dad was a big time golfer and talked me into taking up the game again. Got totally hooked again and was as obsessed with golf as I am with these stupid diesels. In 1989 I was 45 and about 5 years away from retirement. I was getting pretty good at golf, an honest 9 handicap. I told my wife I wanted to see how good I could get and when I turned 50 who knows. I spent a ton of money on golf lessons by one of the big name instructors who teaches pros. I went down a good golfer came back a terrible golfer and it took me several years to get back to where I had been before I went and took all those lessons.

Although this is a lot more expensive than golf, at least so far it isn't nearly as frustrating. But it's getting there.:D
