Well got my fitting from Scott Today. The Parker store had only got the 1/2" ones in and not the 3/8" ones.
Well here is the skinny, it fits with plenty of room. The oe one has a brass compression washer. The Parker ones comes with a pretty hefty Oring. Thought of swapping it, but wanted to make sure it would seal, but I have no doubts that the oring will work great.
Now the bad, the 1/2" fitting is just that, the ID of the tract is virtually identical to oe one. But there is obviously plenty of material there to drill it out a ways, however if you go to big, you risk structural strength in the threaded area. I'll have to look at how much I drilled mine out, but I went about to the beginning of the threaded area. I'm sure it will make zero difference in performance whether I had drilled it out or not.
Here are the parker part numbers again. For reference, I looked but couldn't find a 3/8 or 1/2" hose barb in a M12 x 1.5 metric thread anywhere else.
1/2"= 68HB-8-M112
3/8"= 68HB-6-M112
Both attach with a 11/16" deep well and are 1.5" long (total length).
I can tell you, running 1/2" through the valley has lots of tight spots and isn't easy to get right. I cut up my return line at the same time and deleted my FPRV on the fuel distro block. So that helped ALOT.
here is some pics..
In closing, don't think many really realize how small the oe draw tube is in the tank, this type of mod is best combined with a sump....otherwise you are still pulling fuel from the tank with a little bitty hole.
