Feeling fine. At least with LB7's you don't have to deal with a friggen injector that's a mile long trying to turn it just right to drop down in the back cylinders, you still have to take all the crap off the top of the engine to do LLY injectors, you have TONS of crap that likes to fall down into the holes when you pull them out, rusted hold down bolts for the injectors, and a few others. I know I'm not alone in this feeling as well. I've done 2 sets of LLY's, and do not care to do another set. And I know of 2 LBZ's right now that need injectors because of P0087, but they don't think LBZ injectors fail so they won't do them. This whole only LB7 injectors fail is getting old. They ALL can fail. At least LB7 injectors are cheaper to buy when they do go. I've seen what a set of LLY's and newer ones cost, NO THANK YOU!

The most sense made in this thread. That's what I've been saying all these years but people can't get over the lb7 injector thing because there was a crazy long bulletin for them and all the forums have blown the whole thing way out of proportion.

Do powerstrokes and Cummings have as many injector/ mechanical problems as Duramax? Duramax seem pretty high matainance. Is this how all diesels are?

6.0 have a lot of issues. They are a HEUI Injection. Meaning it takes oil and fuel to fire. Idle at 550psi oil at idle and 3800-4000 WOT. Spool valves get stuck that meters the oil

If you put all the updated oil plugs/standpipes/dummy plugs in, a nice set of injectors, delete the egr and if you go as far as studding it and CHANGE THE OIL, on time, it will last. I work on many since they were new. Deleted and coolant flushes with cat elc coolant will keep them running nice.

I can say more 04.5+ trucks will make it to 200k with original injectors than lb7s could dream of!
OK, now lets look at it this way. What are the odds of an LB7 with NEW style injectors with the updates in them learned from later injectors going 200K VS LLY's? The new style injectors with the hardened ball seats and so on are MUCH more reliable. Can they fail, yes. Have any failed, yes. But A DAM site less of them have failed VS the 1st generation LB7 injectors did. The other issue is so many people tried to cut corners and cheap out on replacements(Llike I did the 1st time around, and took 3 sets to learn my lesson), then have repeat failures over and over, and blame the LB7 injectors when in reality it was them cheaping out.

Don't know about the CUMMINgS, but yes, the CUMMINS does have injector issues as well. More on par with LLY's as far as the number of failures. And we won't even go to the powerstroke. The 6.0L and 6.4L have left a pretty tarnished image for FORD.

Haven't heard to many bad things about the 6.7 liter Cummings?

The fact they are loud in the cab, ruin a bed floor, blow soot all over your truck, melt stuff in the bed, can't haul anything in the bed, can't pull a nice rig on a trailer behind said truck, etc..
