    2wd chassis to 4wd

Now that would be a much better option for the ability to get replacement poly bushings in the future.

    2wd chassis to 4wd

The issue with that is for an 18 year old truck, rubber bushings should be replaced. It won't take much longer for it to start deteriorating. Guess I'll do some hunting to see what will work. Maybe a leaf spring bushing? Hell, I may not even have to do that and fab up a new mount for the axle to...

    2wd chassis to 4wd

just brought it home. Chassis was definitely the best I've seen to find around the New England area. Now time to unload it and park the truck for the winter, got snow coming up on Thursday.

Thanks guys!! What are you guys using for the rubber bushing sleeve to weld in?

    2wd chassis to 4wd

That's my plan once I get my truck stripped down starting next spring. My lift kit doesn't require any of the drivers side mounts for the axle, just the passenger side so it's not a bad job to do. Definitely leaving the welding to my buddies, I'm not a superb welder lol. Thanks Tom, we will be...

Yes it is. Still complete as the day it was crashed, has a RCD 6" lift on it.

    2wd chassis to 4wd

I know this thread has been brought up several times but wanted to confirm something frame related. I have a 06 LLY that was totaled in 2017 and took it back from the insurance because I'm sentimental that being it's my first diesel truck and the best truck I've owned that I bought in 2008...

    Help! Truck No Start

The issue with lithium battery is they don't like the cold weather. AGM is better for all around weather.

    Over the alternator Y bridge?

Profab performance does. FYI, it's not fun to install and it's much easier to install with the valley turbo out of the way. Get the stud kit if you go with that route.

Any updates on the longevity and steering quality of the cardone 97-8418GB? I see a few available on 2 different websites.

    Compound turbo tuning

I can easily enough, even though it's only on cold start ups. However, this has me interested in why it's popping the code. Too low of MAF scaling on start up? I wish it would have a snap of the parameters when the code pops up to see what caused it to come on. It does run well enough with the...

    Compound turbo tuning

Ever since I fixed the boost leak, I'm back with the dreaded P0101 even had the same issue before going twins. It only pops up when I start it, MAF g/s is around 45-46 when cold. I adjusted the MAF scaling lower around idle and it's the same. Should I be adjusting the fuel by lowering fuel...

    Street tires

Ah I was not aware that the 420 was the actual wear index rating. Learn something new every day. Otherwise I'm happy with the tires so far.

    Compound turbo tuning

Figured I'd give an update to the thread. After several tuning changes and noticed the egt were climbing higher each time I drove, I decided to do a boost leak test and found a massive leak at the Y bridge. Wasn't too thrilled as it required me to pull the valley turbo and found oil in the...

    Street tires

I've decided to go with the Toyo Proxes STIII. Slapped them on Friday and drove it around. Had a heavy rain that day I slapped them on and it did remarkably well in the rain, not a single hydroplane and did exceptionally well in the corners. Road noise isn't loud at all. Rode pretty smooth...

    Street tires

Skinnier tires with a higher load rating usually gives you more mileage out of the tire. Also a huge factor is the asphalt abrasiveness, the rougher the asphalt the faster your tire wears out. Heat also plays a factor too. Pretty common in the southern states, I barely could get 40k out of my...

    Street tires

Proper tire maintenance goes a long way even while beating on it. I mostly do highway driving and some city/town driving, 100 miles a day so that's why I get so many miles out of the tire lifespan. Every oil change or sometimes every other oil change, the tires get rotated.

Thanks for your input, I was not aware of having better tread wear on the toyos. I really did put Toyos on the top of my list until I noticed in person and read reviews to mount/dismount for the staggered tread pattern as they perform the best in that direction. Did you have to dismount/mount...

    Street tires

Thanks for taking your time looking up the tires. I've narrowed down to 3 tires that seems to have the best reviews after countless hours of researching. Yesterday I saw the Toyo Proxes STIII on a 17-19 L5P and realized those tires are directional although they can be unidirectional but the tire...
