Please help! Lb7 has big problems

Hey guys very sorry for the delayed response! The noise I declared was normal.. Listened to a buddies lb7 and it was there. Seems to be the cheaper water pumps from the parts store, something to do with the gear not being 100% straight. 245,xxx Miles FPRV Has never been messed with, and CP3...

Please help! Lb7 has big problems

Thanks for the reply! My balance rates are within 2.5 mm3. Also, there is no fuel in the oil, and it never smokes... I really do not want that to be the problem lol The noise was not there before.. it is a very distinct high pitched grinding sound.. Also I don't have to put my ear up to it...

Please help! Lb7 has big problems

I have been experiencing issues with loss of power/mpg on my lb7. I checked the rail pressure's desired vs. actual and there is a few thousand psi. And I can definitely tell a difference in power.. I tested by raising the fuel regulator in my EFI Live program, to 160*. Desired was 23,xxx K and...

    LB7: Loss of power/fuel milage

Was super busy today and did not get a chance to check my idle fuel rate. How ever my truck is acting worse.. It's got a horrible roughness to be described as a bouncing motion.. I feels like it is coming from the front passenger side. I lifted the wheel and it has about a 1/8" worth of play...

    LB7: Loss of power/fuel milage

I will check the idle fuel rate tomorrow. I replaced my fuel filter two months ago, and just replaced it again. There is no fuel in my oil either. Thanks for the tips

    LB7: Loss of power/fuel milage

I went from 20+mpg to 14 or less. I just replaced the fuel filter and it helped a bit with the power, but according to my mpg's there still the same. This truck use to rev to 3k easy in 5th and would hit 70mph in a second, not so much any more. Seems like it struggles badly to get to 2800...

    LB7: Unknown sensor vacuum/pressure

Thanks for the info. If I spend that much time/effort/money on the engine I would just do the swap and get rid of the LB7. My lifted cup was the effect of a careless technician who did not install it the correct way.

    LB7: Unknown sensor vacuum/pressure

Alrighty, thanks for the info man. Any idea what else to check for lower fuel mileage after injector swap. I only touched one injector. Checked for fuel in oil and fuel leaking from the four lines at both ends. Balance rates are also looking good. This leads me to believe it is not a issue...

    LB7: Unknown sensor vacuum/pressure

Thanks for the responses guys. I will put that bracket where it belongs tomorrow and hook the other two plugs to it. I know my pics are bad, and I will try to get better ones tomorrow, but are you sure no hose hooks up to the back of it? What's the point of having a sensor that senses nothing...

    LB7: Unknown sensor vacuum/pressure

Just replaced a injector/cup and fixed a coolant issue I have had for the last year. Balance rates look good, +/- less than 3. Rail pressure is about 5psi below 5k. I am experiencing what seems like bad fuel mileage. On my stock tune the truck will blow some black smoke if I put my foot into...

LB7: Injector cup stuck to the injector

Any of you guys have a old injector that could punch that pin out and ship it to me? I would rather put it back together and pull it back apart before I just waist $300 on a injector. I know mine still has a lot of life left in it and don't want to replace it if I don't need to. Plus this...

LB7: Injector cup stuck to the injector

Will do. I think I may end up just buying a new injector.. I don't want to chance putting it back together(even with the pin in there) and then have to pull it all the way back apart. Thanks for all the help guys Kasey

LB7: Injector cup stuck to the injector

Cleaned it with some steel wool and can't find the holes. Are they on the tip? I know I need glasses but man.. I must be getting old.

LB7: Injector cup stuck to the injector

Already ordered the stuff, does Pensacola have low quality stuff? There injectors are insanely cheaper than my dealer. I'm sure everyone is though.

LB7: Injector cup stuck to the injector

Okay thanks for the info. Dealer wanted $100 for one cup with o-rings!! I went with a cup and injector install kit from pensicola for $55 shipped. I needed those washers for the banjo nuts any how. Anyone have info on being able to use my injector? I don't see why there would be an issue in...

LB7: Injector cup stuck to the injector

I agree with you! That is something I learned after the first one. I'm %100 OK with using pliers to loosen them, to avoid stripping them. In my case you can tell that was not the order of tooling used. I usually prefer allen, but I think these strip so easily because the metal is so soft...

LB7: Injector cup stuck to the injector

If you read the earlier posts, there were a lot(at least 10) stripped bots and nuts. They clearly used channel locks to remove a lot, including the injector return line banjo bolts. Then reused the ruined bolts and nuts. I have every right to point the finger at the person who installed them...

LB7: Injector cup stuck to the injector

Yeah I think I may be able to reuse it, LOL I know this is probably a very dumb question, how does the injectors spray? The tip seems to be a solid piece.. Is there supposed to be a hole? And any info on that stud that connects the injector to the high pressure fuel line? Thanks
