    LMM: Engine Assembly Questions

The c's I have are the mahle genuine c's. But was keen to run wave stopers on this build just to help as we didn't oring the block. I do like some extra insurance. But I feel like c's are just going to be way to big or is there slight thickness difference not that bad ? Especially having a...

    LMM: Engine Assembly Questions

Hi guys, About to assemble my fresh build lmm and have a few questions. First one might sound a bit stupid, not sure if im missing something or doing something wrong or what. I am a bit puzzled on why my piston protrusion is around .152mm so the block was decked not by much just to ensure...

    LMM: PCV Valve Question

yeah i know why its there and what it's for. What im trying to work out is why has the duramax got a valve though. as its not normal for a diesel to run a valve. as a valve is mainly only for petrol so you don't suffer a vac leak at low revs. so there shouldn't be a valve on the duramax but...

    LMM: PCV Valve Question

been searching to try find the answer to this but no luck. just to say first i know what a PCV system is for and how it works. My question is though why does the Duramax have a PCV Valve ? and not like most diesels that don't run a valve as they just use a CCV system that's normally just a...

    LMM: crank gear reluctor wheel

Instead of starting a new post I might aswell bump this one again. Does anyone know where I can buy the 2 knock pins to align the reluctor wheel to the crank gear ? It looks like the gear side is 5mm as I have used 2 5mm drill bits and there snug. But it seems the reluctor wheel has bigger...

cts2 insight or banks i dash data monster

As the title says, what would be the better option. Leaning toward the cts2 for some of its features. But the banks unit seems pretty impressive only down side is it being small. Would like to hear some opinions about both

    LML Callies Durastar Crankshaft Issues??

The way they are talking about it, feels like they don't want to admit to the public it was a batch issue with some problems. because after she checked my SN it was ok. so leads me to believe they have narrowed the issue down to a batch, the poor surface finish and tapered surface they want me...

    LML Callies Durastar Crankshaft Issues??

And this is the response I got when I ask if it was a batch issue and incorrect hardness. Well it appears my crank is fine. I guess now all I do with my engine builder is check the surface finish and that the surface is flat not on a angle and we should be fine.. fingers crossed. If it does...

    LML Callies Durastar Crankshaft Issues??

So, received an email back with some info. And well it's interesting that's for sure. The taper and surface finish makes sense as to why it would chew out the thrust bearings. But sounds like they have had some with bad thrust bearings and in correct thrust.
