    I have a 2001 2500 Hd, the stearing gear box is leaking, going to buy a new one , the question I have is it a 33 or 32 spline? 1GCHK29131E320082 is the vin if that helps or how can I tell?

    Its been about 50,000 miles since spin on filter change. So you dont think it would hurt to change the fluid? But no flush. Ally fox you are right. awenta , it was empty no locked, but a 105 deg outside, on the highway.

    I have a 2001 duramax, it has 255,000 miles on it, but the tranny only has 150,000 miles. i have never changed the fluid in the tranny. my QUESTION is can i change the fluid now, or would it hurt the tranny? The gauge for the tranny is getting about 300 deg. When tranny get that warm it down...

    The truck runs great, it just white or blue smoke when idling, should i run some kind of good cleaner through it? It had new injector pump back when i first got it , dealer replaced it.

    It seems that if it is warm outside it will start up and run just fine in the morning, but if it's cold outside is when i have the trouble HELP

    2001 duramax, it will start right up in the morning, run for 2 or 3 seconds and die, pump the primer about 10 times, fires right up and will run all day with no problems at all, next morning same thing, i have changed the fuel filter HELP
